Imperator1961's units preview thread

That'll look really cool at civ scale. You didn't do anything to the skin, right?

I think he looks fine. They aren't that dark in southeast asia anyway.

Well, what do you think of this one?

That looks really good when I shrank him to civ-scale! I think he's ready!

I would just change the color of the loincloth, its to smilar to the shield and skin...

Otherwise its great!

Yeah, make it a light blue, since that will make it match the shirt good and also be identifiable at civ-scale. And if not that, you could try a red of some sort (rather than orange).

Awesome units imperator! You seem to be well on your way to becoming a great unit-maker. I love the Swedish Arquebusier btw, he's my favorite so far (but the others are also amazing).

Rommel, the jacket is civ colored IIRC so .... but yeah, it'd be nice to have the cloth a [more] different tone from the skin.

Well, if you compare the last pic to previous ones, you will see that the last pic isn't using civ-color on the shirt anymore (the blue is too dark and slightly too flourescent). But in any case, I still think a light blue loin cloth would look good. It's a color used in that part of asia back then often.

If you're planning on making those blues come out as blue in the final unit, rather than civ colour, be aware that you'll need to set it so that civ colour is something completely different, such as green or yellow. If you're using civ-blue as the civ colour then any blue will come out as civ colour (or at least partly civ colour), even if it's a different shade.

Re: civ color. I noticed with my units that you can have bluish colors - other than civ color - on your units, as long as these bluish colors contain green and you have represented them well in your palette. That's how my Russian Su-39 worked out...

Well a halberd is a pike with an added axe head, so technically it's both.

You are probably thinking of a pole axe, but they are not as long as the one in his preview.

Ooooh, what's that? :D

From the mid-16th century the rapid spread of firearms among the non-military classes was strenuosly resisted by ottomans, though in the end unsuccesfully. Accepting the inevitable, the government turned it to advantage by enlisting armed Turkish peasants and auxiliaries as Levents or Tufekcjs.

I agree with Stormy that the stock could be slightly improved but I'm not sure how much it would turn up at civ scale anyway. It would probably not be out of order to tweak it a little anyway. :)
