Description: Although it has taken several years, the plague survivors of the area have established the kingdom of Ormus. Initially based on Hormuz Island (to resist invasion) they have claimed the nearby continental provinces as well. In the wake of the current wars, many ships have deserted and fled to Ormus. Initially seen as a threat to the Caliphate, the
treaty of Bandar-Abbas, secured regional peace and prosperity, at the expense of total autonomy.
Culture: The recent introduction of of Sharia courts has angered many original Ormus citizens. Initially, the island fortress represented a safe haven for sailors, which resulted in its large naval force. This force is multi-national and diverse. As such, while Sharia courts are the legal courts of the land, interpretation of Sharia law tends to be very liberal. The majority of citizens want to see Ormus' energy reserves used to institute free nationwide telecommunication, education, and health care.
