2069 Elections
The Gulf had never seen a election so large, where millions are voting. President Jack Marshall, after servng the Republic nine years stepped down, and let new people run for office. This created a moment of chaos, as everyone had expected him to run for another three years, parties scrambling to get their canidiates ready. Two canidates quickly caught the public's eye, Martin Davis and Robert Calhoun. They represanted the Party of a Democracy and Liberal Party, the two big parties in The Gulf.
Martin Davis/ TPD: Orginally a soldier born in the settlement of New Miami, he quickly became a supporter of the Party of Democracy due to them sharing the views of gun rights, interventionism, and working for the better pay for soldiers. Having fought off bands of raiders, and knowing how many lives they take, he has promised to strength the defense of the nation, both inside and out.
Robert Calhoun/ LP: Former vice president of Mr. Marshall, he claimed that serving with him taught him the experince needed to run the nation, and to protect the rights of the average joe. He had also spoken against the Party of Democracy claiming that while soldiers are heroes of the nation, and deserve better respect, the money needs to go the building of trading vessels, and to help farmers so that they can grow the crops that are needed.
