Imperium Offtopicum XXII

The ideology of Marxism-Leninism and Stalinism guarantee the freedom of all people by institutionalizing the dictatorship of the proletariat. Unlike petty capitalist ideology, we are not concerned with mere efficiency, for we consider that freedom and the pursuit of Communist society have inestimable worth in the hearts and minds of man. Surely Phoenix Incorporated ought to have realized that their expansion path resulted in multiple provinces directly on the doorstep of the Belgian homeland. If Phoenix Incorporated did not want us to adopt a defensive posture, they should have previously assured us that Champagne would be left unmolested by their profit-gobbling gangster dictators.

To be frank, we do not give a damn if Paris is "secure" under your leadership or not. Your expansion can only be perceived as an effort to contain and threaten us. And frankly we do not think that a corporate conglomerate represents any kind of market freedom at all. Who are your competitors? Which products are your people required to buy? We rest our case. Neoliberal capitalism is a self-defeating philosophy, and you hide your strong hand behind the religious ordinance of the "free market," which long ago you put in the grave yourself.

We will offer you this deal: allow us to occupy Champagne, so that only Calais stands to threaten the Belgian heartland, and we will consider the matter settled, and allow you to play with your toys and human property in "peace." Otherwise we can allow the winds of Chance to make this determination for us, and so commit to our eventual conflict.

the Roman Emperor pipes up with this suggestion to the London based government: try claiming territories overseas, avoid the conflict. there's no one in south America.

We are saddened by the "rational" of the Belgium authorities. We are actually looking forward to carving a map like a cake.

Saying that perhaps our desire to keep Paris secure might lead to a... third option.

Agree to the Seville meeting and we agree on what parts of Europe intrigue us. If things go nice we might even consider changing our plans so that we go for Brittany rather than Champagne... as long as we both sign up to a non-aggression agreement and concur to draw between each other on our expansion plans to avoid border gore.

Consider the benefit of the pact: it will allow us to maintain peace while not preventing our media teams from blasting each other. At the same time we can agree on borders and on keeping anarchists from interfering with either of our plans.

If you concur we will divide two maps; one showing a revised corporate expansion plan, the other on what slices of the cake we get in the future.

You know how expensive oversea claimants are? We have a audit to plan and a debt to keep low.

We'll send representatives to... Seville, we suppose. Go ahead and share your plans with us. We don't want to kill Phoenix's human slaves if it can be avoided but we absolutely cannot tolerate Phoenix positioning itself all along the Ardennes.

the concept of debt isn't one that exists in this world. you literally cant spend more than what you have.

Champagne will for us go the way of the Cuban cigar; a forbidden luxury from a communist land that no doubt will be either smuggled or copied.

You will access to the rights of the drink and the province.

We will continue our investments in France.

Now we are aware that the new Germans may cause some... blocks for your own expansion and we are aware that the cornered do not act passive. This may make things a bit of a challenge.

Peace is profitable so we area going to ask you two questions before we draw the map: are you after Switzerland? And do you have intention to compete with us in the wine market? We eye Bourgogne...

Do you know how expensive it is to buy out several of your competing firms? Not that we are in excess; again we are at low debt and wish to keep it that way.

just for that, the cost of buying out any Roman businesses is doubled.

hey, we have our own debt to clear. :p

(in case its not obvious, its a joke. we don't control market prices.)

For the record here is a revision of our expansion:

We will now need to talk about where the cake is to get cut; the main objective is for Pheonix Incorporated to acquire all the northern and western coasts of France with a strong line from Paris. As a bonus objective getting access to the Med would go swell for our shipping costs. and will allow our railway profits to increase as we connect the channel tunnel all the way to Roussillion. We intent to add this notion as we draw the map (we we will discuss Iberia with Union of Andalusia and the Algarves in time; our current plans are focused on expanding the franchise to France).

At the same time we predict that the Belgium government might enjoy the idea of "liberating" Switzerland; this would be what we would desire if we were in Belgium's position and the potential access to Italy from there.

We will draw a map and the fate of France after we have a idea of Belgium expansion desires...

In accordance with Phoenician delicacy, we have produced a map of our long-term expansion liberation plans. This comprises the region we refer to as "Greater Lotharingia." As you can see, it includes the province of Bourgogne. We might see our way clear to compromise on this if it becomes an issue, however we cannot turn our backs on our lowland comrades just because Phoenix desires to make wine.

We recommend that you purchase Bordeaux if that is your desire, as the Bordelais have been known to produce excellent wine. If peace is your wish, then respecting our desires thus accentuated will allow us to remain at peace, and we will agree to sign a pact of non-aggression with Phoenix.

Meanwhile, we denounce capitalism and imperialistic land claiming et cetera et cetera. However, sometimes you have to be capitalist in order to defeat capitalists. It's simple newthink.

We concur with the division: the cake has been sliced, a piece going to the redness of Phoenix Incorporated and to the yellowness of communist Belgium.

This would make fairness? We divided to 16-17 between us in land acquirements.

When it comes to Italy we will have a future meeting on that matter, while Hispania will be a matter to talk with Andalusia

Anyhow we are glad for the non-aggression with Belgium and look forward to future co-operations, even if we are now officially competitors in the international wine market.

Praise the common sense from the Invisible Hand for guiding us to productivity and a new found competition in alcoholic beverages!

As long as the Phoenicians leave us to build socialism in peace there will be no harm.

The glorious People's Republic of Katagalugan pledges protection to the entire South Pacific and East Indian Oceans. Furthermore, it pledges allegiance to contribute to the liberation efforts of any other Marxist-Leninist state on earth. Uphold the immortal dialectic, comrades.

China will grow Larger.

RP Later, will talk about my politics.

@ Katagaluga We would be interested in hashing out geographical spheres of influence between our two Marxist States, if you would like to discuss please contact us through the appropriate channels (preferably discord)

The People's Republic of Greater Belgium is sending gift baskets to Katagalugan and China. Please enjoy our fine chocolates, in the spirit of international socialism.

Given how the agreement has been made with the cabal of criminals who are ruling in London the Loyalist Government of the United Kingdom does not acknowledge or respect any aspect of the Seville treaty as international law. It is a foul document that the poor Belgians have been duped into signing. No treaties made with the criminal elements of London society are viewed by the Loyalist Government to be legitimate.

We also post here a map of the United Kingdom

See how much more beautiful it is united!

Overseas claims are also continued by the Loyalist Government as the successor state to the United Kingdom. We do however acknowledge the people of Gibraltar as joining with the Iberian Government with which we will continue to pursue close ties.

RESULTS OF THE PRUSSIAN ELECTIONS, FEBRUARY 16, YEAR 2021

Friedrich von Anhalat: 96 seats
Adalbecht Heisser: 82 seats
Michael Chait: 45 seats
Anatol Berkel: 20 seats
Karl Grosser: 18 seats
Ludwig Ritschel:
7 seats
Other candidates: 7 seats

With rising tensions in the west, Friedrich von Anhalat has unexpectedly managed to defeat Adalbecht Heisser in the elections this year. Friedrich von Anhalat promised to continue fighting for the peace of Prussia, but he also remarked that Prussia would not bow to either communists or corporativists, and proclaimed that nationalism was the only way forward for the people of the world.

Karl Grosser went in a fit of rage on television, afraid that the king was, in the contrary, surrendering historical Prussian land to the red menance. von Anhalat responded that he believed that, although he doesn’t approve of the Belgian regime, that Prussia desires peace, rather than pointless war. Adalbercht Heisser released a statement agreeing with von Anhalat.

POLICIES WITH THE REST OF EUROPE

From: Waldemar I von Meckleburg, King of Prussia

To:
Andreas I Laskaris, Emperor of Rome

The Kingdom of Prussia would like to see further collaboration with the Roman Empire. We acknowledge that, shortly before the apocalypse, Germany wasn’t on the most friendly terms with their Turkish minorities, but we believe that we can leave the past behind and look forwards to the future.

Andreas I Laskaris considers the past to be the past. further cooperation with Prussia is welcome to the Empire.

of note:

Emperor Andreas is busy trying to figure out just where the millions of Syrian refugees were actually located. the official records "say" that less than 300,000 lived in camps, but the number of refugees is generally considered to be ten times higher, a figure that will only rise, with the establishment of the Roman Empire as the only organized government near them, and capable of housing them.

the Emperor also dispatched small scout teams into Syria and iraq to make sure the ISIS is actually destroyed before the world blew up.

Either way, as we do seek peace in Europe, we shall respect Belgian claims, and we announce the claims of our own.

The People's Republic of Greater Belgium appreciates the due respect. There exists for Belgium no reason that we cannot live with the Prussians on normal footing, and with time it may even become better.
