Improvements, features etc.

It seems I have more or less finished the new waterfall model. Unfortunately I don't know how to place it on the river. Can someone please advise me? I know from Nexus that it could be done in code, but that's not my thing...
Thanks

Telling the truth I don't (yet) know either. I thought it's not so hard but rivers are trickier than features. I didn't give up on solving it, just postponing and come back to it whenever I have the mood. When I figure out, I'll let you know as well :)

Thanks. I'd really appreciate that, because the model can't be used like that.
I was wondering if it would be possible to create a new
<TileArtType> for this.
Something like for a watermill at imrovements

Probably possible but that's far beyond my humble AI driven python skills.

Of course. Model and texture. That's all. I don't archive models, so I downloaded it from the database, just like you. I'll try to put it in the game later today to make sure it displays correctly.

Likely a difference between NifSkope 1.x that @hrochland is using (judging by the screenshot) and 2.0 which most everybody else has. I can also confirm 2.0 can't open the file. Importing/exporting with Max produces a .nif that can be opened, but I am not sure if it broke anything that was in the original (quite likely, as my resulting file is quite a bit smaller) as I can't open both side-by-side to compare.

Thanks, Walter. You can see in the screenshot (although I didn't adjust the size) that the model is displayed normally in the game.

As for NifSkope, it was never developed directly for Civilization. The Morowind community and similar games are still involved in its development. That's why it reads, displays and processes a lot of things that we don't need in Civ4. It is this constant development that makes older Civ4 files not quite right for new versions of NifSkope.

It is precisely because of the use of different functions that I use three versions of NifSkope. The latest 2dev9 file park.nif will be displayed after clicking on the dialog. However, it is pointless to download new versions of NifSkope, because its current development has nothing to do with Civ4.

I personally use a modified dev 7 version (that the dev specifically tweaked for me to be able to open EE2 DLC files, but didn't include the change in the regular versions as IIRC it conflicted with something else). You're completely right in that NifSkope has nothing to do directly with Civ 4, and sometimes stuff that doesn't display in Nifskope works fine in-game (I have a couple of units like that in RI), but it obviously makes it tedious to work with such a nif if one wants to do retextures / UV tweaks / basically any other modification.

So one of my players have reminded me that there is something wrong with a model:

* Lynx animal produces light? Causes strange graphics when one exists in your view.
Could either of you fix it, please?

It's supposed to be an animal wondering around, just like wolves and lions.
Yeah, now that you ask, I start to remember that it wasn't animated. If you can add animation also it's great; if not that's no problem either. Thank you guys! 🙂
