India

I think this discussion should occur after General happiness changes, as that will effect India
Gazebo is defining a change to decimal happiness shown in city UI already as a rework, so I think the happiness system will not change that much anymore.
And no matter how the final happiness modifier will be, bigger cities will lead to more unhappiness, but India has no extra ability to deal with it.

How would be this, instead of +2% growth/pressure per follower, he gain +1% food/pressure and - 1% need modifier.
High food excess values by growth didn't help with fighting distress, but increased food does. With a food modifier, his UA would still help him, even if he is forced to stop growth by unhappiness. 2% pressure increase per follower is insane, you can easily overwhelm a Pangäa map with a tall empire. So 1% is OK and enough.
1% need reduction isn't big enough to compensate bad play, but it gives him an edge over other players, and with more food instead growth, more citizen in the endgame are free to work non-food tiles and help in fighting the other needs.

In the last version alone G changed when Global medians are adjusted (on growth instead of globally). So I would disagree with your premise.

We are actively discussing happiness in that main thread right now, so I still argue discussing specific changes for India is premature.

I think "discussing" is the wrong word. I place a lot of arguments and questions, but the only answers are "rounding error" and "play this version". I think not one have checked my save, nor did I get any answer how a 50% modifier change by a shift of the tech median by one level is possible. (comparable with the influence of a 230% need reduction building)
Every time I saw great happiness swings, the modifiers in the cities changed greatly, while the medians stayed nearly the same or even decreased. So, Iam sorry about my opinion, that a freeze of medians wouldn't help.
Unfortunatly my power supply for the pc is broken and I can't do test runs till Monday.

The change Gazebo made was to target happiness jumps for all. This has nothing to do with the unhappiness of bigger cities in general. If all nations are able to generate the same amount of happiness, India is only able to get faster to the point zero than others, but still unable to cross it. And with a stopped growth, they also lose a part of their UA completely.

No one checked your save you are absolutely right. You were asked by the master of the mod to do one thing....replicate your results in the latest version. Considering he has to do all of the coding, bug fixes, and validation...it was a reasonable ask even if you didn't agree with it. Instead you spent dozens of posts wasting everyone's time by arguing about it, including my own, when I was open and willing to listen to your point of view. I even was still planning to look at your save but you just kept arguing and arguing, so I just gave up.

You get no further sympathy from me.

Quit spamming this crap in every thread. Seriously seriously stop.

My logic is undeniable.

We had a big ol' drag out about India 4 patches ago, was it? And distress was subbed for crime. I haven't seen if that fixed all of india's problems, but im sure it helped I'd be interested in doing another playthrough with india at a later time to see how it goes, but I can't afford to spend time on a full game lately.

I replicated and published an issue in the same version. On the 4th October on side 17/18 of the 9-25 Patch thread. 6 days before the new version came out.
I analyzed an others game and proofed a discrepancy by the tech median calculation. He have read it and corrected a minor wrong comment of my side.
But not one word, no explanation why there's a discrepancy in the tech-median calculation. Nothing. Nor can anybody explain those modifier jumps I saw in 3 save games. Nobody even tried.

But what about the droid attack on the wookies?!

Even if someone explained the tech median to you, you wouldn't care unless the answer 100% matched your expectation.

You know the mod. It's your baby. In the time you wrote sarcastic, useless comments, you could have explained that discrepancy 5 times. Why you didn't solve the riddle and its good.

Play the new version?
Use the most pristine adaptation?
Adopt the modern interpretation?
Download the current volume?
Take up the recent changes? What do we need to say to make this clear?

let's see... you seem to be missing Temple of Artemis, and a +10% Food monopoly brought up to 20% by Imperialism. That would 90 extra base food, and roughly 300 added to the total. :D

Don’t monopoly bonuses stack? How many are there for food? Olives, salt, sugar. Anything else?

Stay away from my red stapler.

What else do you expect me to do for fun, play Civ?

Why are there two corporation modifiers, one for food and one for growth?

Currently playing India after the 4/20 patch, it feels a lot better after the changes to specialist unhappiness. I've got a solid start, managed to found and reform my religion, I've picked up Temple of Artemis, Hanging Gardens, Temple of Sankore, and Leaning Tower, so I'm in a pretty good spot overall I think.

I'm wondering how other people use the Naga-Malla, is it a good idea to try to go offensive and take some cities from a weaker neighbor? I have a Brazil nearby that could be annoying to continue competing with, and I think I might be able to do some damage there. OTOH, I have a basically impenetrable chokepoint so I'm completely safe from any land based invasion, so I could easily just turtle up and try to beat Brazil at tourism.
