Indian UHV in BtS

The only other element to this game was that I was constantly at war with China (no battles though), since I started the game by sending over my initial warrior to declare war, steal their workers, pillage, make peace, and repeat. I got 3 of his workers before he became too angry to negotiate peace with any more. :)

I suspect that strategy kept China permanently behind in population, even after he finally cornered my brave little warrior and slaughtered him. :)

Heh, I used the same strategy as Babylon (to prevent India from accessing the wheat/marble so I can build the oracle). My little warrior was not so brave though--he just sat there and that was enough.

Judaism keeps being founded at turn 29, maybe it was meant to get all others except it and one other.

Well I just got Buddhism, Hinduism, Taoism and Confucianism without any luck involved, took a lot of micromanagement though. Im headed for Christianity /crosses fingers. Ill post a spoiler if anyone wants.

Edit: Just got all 5 religions by turn 114, although I did mismanage a little on the last leg of it, but its done, now just gotta work on the population since I just have the one city still lol.

Yes, I would like to see one...Thanks

Now maybe theres a better way to do this so you have more cities and I dont think you need to research Christianity or Islam quite as fast, but you still need to do it pretty quickly. Also I think I am going to lose since I dont think I will have the high pop, but here it is anyway.

Spoiler :

Research path: Meditation, Masonry, Priesthood, Writing, Fishing, (Choose Mathematics for free tech from oracle), Sailing, Calender, Polytheism, Monotheism, Theology

Found your city the spot above the marble and start building a warrior, when it finishes, start a punjabi. When he finishes, have him build a quarry and start building a monastary. When you get priesthood, switch to the Oracle. When you do, you need to adjust one of the 3 food 1 commerce workers to the wheat square. When your punjabi finishes, he wont be used until calender. When the Oracle finishes, switch the 3 hammer to the 3 food 1 commerce and finish building your monastary.

When your city gets to size 5 it should be finished with your first monastary, build another one. When this one finishes, you can switch the 3 hammer to the 2 hammer 1 commerce square to be safe, but you should make it to Taoism anyway. Then I just start a library and once i get calender, I beeline to Theology. I think once I get the library I use the 3 hammer worker as a scientist.

I hope I remembered this right and hope its clear enough to follow

Getting Taoism/Confucianism seemed almost impossible to me - China has an easy road to them. Plus, if you do get them, you've spent a ton of time on research that doesn't help towards getting your 5th religion. It seems to require a lot of luck that the other Civs be very backwards technologically to allow you to beat them down two paths in the same game. I suspect Judaism is attainable more often than the "Chinese" religions, but if you can do it that way, more power to you. :)

If you use the below research path you should get the 5 religions most of the time. However, I have found that barbarians are showing up in force almost every game. They are more of a problem then getting the religions. Also, move the settler one square to the west and settle on the cows on the first turn. That gives you access to the marble without losing a turn.

Masonry
Polytheism
Monotheism
Meditation
Priesthood
The Wheel-to hook up marble
Agriculture
Animal Husbandry-if you have time
Writing
Monarchy
Divine Right-speed it up with Great Prophet

You use The Oracle one turn after writing to get Theology. Never trade Theology to anyone. That is the key. Without Theology they can't get to Divine Right.

Its impossible to get Judaism unless you get lucky, they get it on like the 30th turn every time. The 2 chinese ones are very close, but doable with the strat I listed. It might be better for the 3rd UHV condition to skip Taoism and go for Theology and Divine Right, but I havnt messed with it since.

Turn 30? Hell they keep getting it on turn 27 for me! Best I can come up with is settling on the cows which makes growth/research about 4 turns quicker, but still about 9 turns too slow. Looks like the old Masonry, Mono, Priesthood strategy is out the door.

Update: I tried with the 3000bc unlocked map and it works via the old strategy. ...

Settle in place, beeline Monotheism through Masonry then Meditation and Priesthod. After getting Judasim the problem then was Babylon getting Hinduism. I reloaded then declared war on my way to Europe and harassed Gilgamesh for a few turns which done the trick. Got Theology from the Oracle, then two Temples+Oracle in Taka was enough to get the prophets for divine right before the arab spawn.
