Rename the uniques and you basically have Netherlands. Interesting take.
The Netherlands have coastal villages on stilts?
Oho, I see what you (they) did there.
Her leader ability doesn't fit the Netherlands though; the Netherlands isn't particularly known for religion.
The Aztec are good, but they aren't Australia good.
More to the point I think it's too premature to rank Khmer and Indonesia anyway. I assume you've put Khmer so low because they appear to just be a faith and growth civ with a cool novelty siege unit - but we don't even know what kind of changes the patch will make yet.
Depending on how drastic the religion overhaul will be, and if it becomes easier to reliably found religions, faith in general could become a much more valuable resource, buffing all religion civs in the game by association.
As a near-constant coastal player, this is obviously my new favorite Civ!
On the current TSL Earth map, Indonesia won't have much room to grow, unless Australia and mainland SE Asia is bereft of the Aussies and Khmer. Java has like 4 tiles. They can build districts on the other Indonesian islands I guess.
We’re going to need a bigger map. I appreciate them adding a more real world map but it’s size limitations make it undesirable for a lot of civs. I’m not normally a huge size map fan but in the case of this one I feel it’s really needed.
They'll conquer the Khmer with Jong
Does anybody know the time for the livestream?
45 minutes from now IIRC
If this was the Netherlands the emphasis would be in commerce and trade rather than religion.
Can someone post the link for the lifestream, please?
Piruparka's made a thread for it.
Aside from that Calvinism phase they went through during their teenage years, you mean.
The Netherlands is mostly famous for building stuff where the sea used to be, yes.
As for what the others have said about faith, that's fair enough. While being Protestant was a major part of Dutch identity historically, it doesn't resonant so strongly now. Replacing some of the religious stuff with trade route stuff would make a lot of sense.
But this civ is still very similar to a lot of the potential dutch ideas that were being touted
...except for the polders and dykes. I'm guessing if they make a Dutch civilization, they would add them as an improvement in some form or another.
And dykes could be represented by an improvement that you build on the coast that give food and production. Do you see where I'm going with this?
Why is "Majapahit" their capital? I don't think there was a city by that name.
The capital of Majapahit was Wilwatikta (now called Trowulan).
It is the same city:
Well, they are somewhat related historically
