I wonder whether warrior monks have different look for different civs, like Sohei for japan or Crusaders for European civs.

Also, I really like the unit design, but I wonder how well they will be in actual game. Strength through experience works well for for Scouts, but they also get experience for peaceful scounting and have upgrade in the middle. I'm afraid, the time window for training rookie Warrior Monks will be quite narrow as they'll become cannon fodder soon. You'll have to build them as many as possible early and send to war to get them to full power.

 

It's an improvement for me, but that's not saying much as that the old layout was almost unusable for me playing on a lower resolution - the buttons didn't seem to scale, and could basically result in something like the modifier windows being one line high.

It's not really how I would have ideally implemented it, though a comment on reddit pointed out it might also be done as the first prep step for diplomacy/world congress in the expansion.

Really I'd like some diplomacy windows that provide more of an overview (of more than one civ at a time!).

 

Yep. More report screens that show information on all of the subject (Civs, Cities, Units, etc) of that screen; and that can be rearranged by clicking on the columns of info presented. Good UI 101.

 

Watch the Twitch VoD yourself and see that yes, the city is named Angkor Wat (they bring up the trade sidebar at 38:28). I agree that it's baffling, though.

Maybe it's just me but I think it would be weird to have both Jakarta and Indonesia as separate entities in a game. I could understand it a bit better if the civ was called Majapahit though. Of course this is my own personal opinion, hence why I asked.

 

I got a very positive feeling that a maritime city-state is included in the upcoming patch.

Also side note: I love that the Philippines has two city-states in the scenario (both Maritime)

 

They seem a lot like a modern day, less-offensive version of the "Fanatic" unit of old.

 

I noticed that Gitarja has 2 Allies in the picture below. Hopefully that's a sign that they fixed that issue from the previous patch

How come she moves in the Player screen? I thought the leader mostly stays still with some slight breathing and blinking?

 

I actually noticed that Jayavarman did the same thing in his FL.

 

Maybe it's something only Firaxis could do. I think our player screens will not have this movement from the leaders.

I noticed that all of Gitarja's delegations are female. Even Gitarja's mother is in there.

So the Civilopedia entry for the Kampung says "Additional Production, Housing, and Tourism as you advance through the Tech and Civic trees".

But then in the traits section shows +1 production at Civil Engineering but makes no mention of Housing and Tourism.

Do you get extra housing and tourism - how much? and when? I think the Civilopedia is just there to drive me crazy!

 

Yeah, that bugged me too. I guess we are going to have to inspect the tech and civic trees for it.
