The new one's yields are in excess of the Synagogue's, which means the Synagogue probably has new yields.

No, he means the synagogue will need an update otherwise it will be completely outclassed by that faith output, no one will ever pick it

EDIT: Actually all they need to do is make the synagogue +6 faith - then its the trade off between more faith now or longer ramp up for more lategame faith.

Well, it would still take 2 era for the zoroaster building to catch up with a synagogue, so even the +5 vs 1 per era is a pretty fair tradeoff.
