We would remind you that we offered Scotland an alliance, twenty years ago, and your king saw fit to ignore our offer, not even giving us the courtesy of a response. He then proceeded to side with Svearland against us, breaking with centuries of cooperation between our peoples. We would also remind you that we declared openly that we would be a foe to the first to attack any nation in the British Isles. So we ask again, who is the traitor?

And again we must state that we find it deplorable that you still use the gods as an excuse to bring war against Scotland and Svearland... if you believe that all who worship differentally than you (which does not include Scotland) should be killed, i believe the large Ctha'r states of the world would have something to say...

OOC: Again, this is the 8th century. Nobody believes in pluralism or tolerance and worshipping a different god essentially means you are sub human. And Trinitists and Ctha'rists have been killing each other on and off for something like 300 years. This is just a brief interlude while we all catch our breath after the last time.

A Recent History of Axum

Axum entered the years of Anno Domini as a puppet of Israel. They started to go off independently in 21 AD under the first of 3 'great' kings of Axum, King Yehoshua ben Avimelech. He is the founder of Adulis, Matara, and Nazret, as well as the Beit Axum. He turned Axum toward a religious path while at the same time becoming wealthy. He stalled Axumite entry into the Nilotic War for over 40 years of his rule. He even had a well known fight with an ambassador of Israel, Reuel ben-David, who did not know Axum was indeed planning on entering the war. He divided the country into provinces. However, after the capital fell, he was killed in the streets.

He was succeeded by Yarden ben Yehoshua. Yarden ben Yehoshua changed Axum's puppet status after the peace treaty was signed between Aegypt and Axum. He gave the legendary 'puppet speech' in 101 AD which is still remembered today.

Spoiler Speech of Independance :

In the courtyard of the Temporary Seat of Government, in the Southern provinces Capital of Nazret, sat Yarden ben Yehoshua, the new king. A crowd had gathered around him. He had used ropes to tie a replica of the Israeli flag to a wall, and hanging from the Israeli flag was a puppet painted in Axumite colours. It was held up by 5 thin strings, and one very thick string that could hold it up alone.

He took out a small dagger. He cut one of the small strings: Beit Axum!

Now that we are getting Beit Axum back, we are no longer required by HaShem to make pilgrimage to Israel, something that clearly showed our servitude.

He cut another string: Neutrality!

Though we joined Israel's war, we held out for longer than Israel hoped. We joined when we were ready, or so we thought. We were betrayed by Byzantium, but also by our conscription. We bear no more ill to Byzantium for that than for betraying Israel. We are NOT going to fight Byzantium.

He cuts a third string: War!

We went to war having as many soldiers as we wanted. We fought by ourselves. In not a single battle did Axum fight alongside Israelis.

He cuts a fourth string: Peace!

We found a way to make peace, without contacting Israel. They have their own problems, and we have ours. We are getting all our lands back, and finding a peace with a nation historically friendly to jews.

He cuts a FIFTH string: Pacifism!

We are going back to our old ways of Pacifism. We will not be dragged into any more wars by Israel. Shalom Axum! Pax Axum! Peace Axum!

There s one more string holding up the puppet. He cuts the thick string in two tries. Rightousness! Genocide!

We are following HaShem's way. In a war, we killed only enemy soldiers, and emphasised keeping civilians alive. Where we did kill civilians, we are now making reparations. Israel is off HaShem's path, and is now being punished by Byzantium.

The Genocide was the final step. It seperated our nations more than any of these other things combined! They killed innocent Egyptians. When they could have been fighting Aegypt, they killed citizens of Lower Egypt.

We are now FREE of Israel. We are EQUALS, beside them. But no more are we puppets!

He takes an Axumite Flag, and ties it up on the wall, and then attaches a string between them and Israel.

This string is our relations. It does not hold us up, but it makes us and them more secure. We are on the same level as Israel, and we are now EQUALS!

Yarden ben Yehoshua was the 2nd of the 3 great kings, with the title not being completely true in some people's eyes as he took Axum out from Israel and under Aegypt instead for 60 years of repayment. He continued his father's path, making Axum a pacifist and religious trading nation, and divided Axum from 2 to 4 provinces. He led Axum to be the savior of Orthodox Judaism, remaining so even after the Bachirians split off. He kept them so by exporting Jesusians to Byzantium, where they have since spread the offshoot of Jesusianism, Kyrianity. He died peacefully in his sleep, and was replaced by his son, Shmuel ben Yarden.

Shmuel ben Yarden was the 3rd of the great kings, and most scholars argue that he was the greatest of the three, followed by Yehoshua and then Yarden. He finished off the repayments to Aegypt, and led Axum to a great independance. He started and finished the Axum road, which led to the heyday of Axumite trade and still is used today, though it has been renovated with its path changing as well as being repaved. He greatly improved education, though he partially did so through cunning, luring over Indian scholars. He formed the African Alliance between Aegypt, Axum, and Union of Aden (AAAAA). He brings the Adenese under the wing of Axum, through the Axum road, bordering them, and through paying generals to be loyal to Axum as well.

He brought Axum into a new age, now called the 'middle ages'. He led the Axumites into a strange new era, of which many records have been lost. He died on the 18 of Iyar (Lag BaOmer) 3991 (231 AD).

Over the 200's, much happened in Axum. There were more technological advances, and Aden was annexed. 4 kings ruled from 231-300 AD, in order Natan, Daniel, Amitai, and Raviv. Other than Daniel, who conquered Aden, not much is known about the kings as they did very little.

Raviv died approximately 305 AD. He was succeeded by a string of so-called 'evil kings', who led Axum away from Hashem, as was prophesized. Some ruled for a short as 7 hours before being assassinated or deposed. Records have not been kept of all of them, but they include (in order): Efraim, Yitzhak, Barak, Lior, Barak II, Yoel, Omri, Oz, Amnon, Paz, Yochanan, Uzi, Dov, Zeev, and Gur.

The important kings in the list are Yitzhak, Barak, Barak II, Paz, Uzi, and Gur. Barak means lightning, and both kings were like that. Barak deposed Yitzhak, his own father, after 16 years on the throne. Much like David, Yitzhak had to face the agony of a civil war started by his own son, Boaz. He also had to deal with the pain of losing Boaz. After Boaz's death, Barak realized his possiblities and continues the civil war. His army won, but he gave explicit orders to capture but not harm Yitzhak. At first everyone thought that was because he was his father, but within a month, the first time they met, Barak drew his sword and slew his father just outside of Matara, in the countryside. During this while, the capital remained in Axum, but Efraim had been greedy and built a huge palace in the country, and became wicked, as had been prophesized. Yitzhak was not totally innocent in this, with many people suspecting heavenly intervention on behalf of Barak and Boaz as a mean of punishing Yitzhak for his idolatry and worship of Amon-Ra.

Barak II was much like his great-uncle, though he deposed a king who had no relation to himself. Barak II was ruler for only 5 months, dying rather ironically when he was struck by lightning, his namesake, on Yom Kippur. He removed the province system and established absolute rule over all of Axum from his palace near Matara.

Paz, the golden king. He is known as one of the most wicked, though not evil. He is wicked for completely betraying Hashem's way, and purposefully doing so. He had golden statues of himself put up around Axum, and forced people to worship them. He even made pilgrimage to the site of the ancient cities of Sodom and Gemmorah. He burned down the Beit Axum, which was later to be re-established in 670 AD under Oded, the man about whom the prophesy spoke.

Uzi was a king known for strength. His given name was Uriya, but after his parents witnessed him fighting, they changed his name to Uzi. He would brutalize anybody who dared disobey or even disagree with him, doing so with only his bare hands, not bothering to carry a weapon. He was famous for his slaying of a bear with only his hands, much like Daniel was famous for killing a lion, or David for killing Goliath. This proved to be his undoing, as he became so cocky he did not take into account aging. He fought against another 'bear', Dov. Dov killed him as he was in his prime while Uzi was old and weakening back to normal human strength.

Gur took the throne at only 12 years of age. That did not stop him from being a young lion, as his name implies. He was renowned throughout the known world for his anger. He burnt down a villiage just to entertain a guest from Persia. He enacted his own form of law, with death the punishment for just about everything. He fought another war against his successor, Akiva, who destroyed the temple during the war and became a righteous king, living in Axum, the city of good.

Noach rose, and rushed over to his desk. He bound the book together, and headed towards the king to collect his pay. He was very excited for his history to be published. In fact, it would be one of the main books in the Sifriya HaGadol. The book, the 3rd in a series and his 7th written, would be copied and go under the Gimatriya system as Nun-Chet, his hebrew name, though that was not why it was categorized as such.
