I experience random crashes when playing Civ 4. I receive no warning, and no error message.

The only correlation I get is an error in my system event log at the same time, which is pasted below. I am also attatching my dxdiag.txt for additional info. The only thing I can think of is that my Civ CD is not int he primary cd rom drive, but then the crashes would not be so random, i can play an entire game without a single error, or have it crash out within twenty turns.

Load Patch V1.52 if not already done so- its a must have Patch

No system error log message attached

Thoughts ....
- Power - stable? separate power lead to Video card (not shared), whatis the power rating ?
- Card, overheating, fan not working, clean fan, seated properly
- Case overheating ?

From Dxdiag, seems a strange entry under
-------------------
DirectInput Devices
-------------------
there are four USB entries for the USB Gaming Keyboard Pro, no idea why, but seems unecessary on the face of it, maybe a cause of memory clash / corruption. Might try unplugging it, rebooting, plug it back in and see if the multiple entries have disappeared.

Something else may surface from the error message in the sys log you mentioned

I knew I forgot something, here's the error from pretty much the very moment of my most recent crash.

The description for Event ID ( 0 ) in Source ( ) cannot be found. The local computer may not have the necessary registry information or message DLL files to display messages from a remote computer. You may be able to use the /AUXSOURCE= flag to retrieve this description; see Help and Support for details. The following information is part of the event: 6.

And I thought I had installed the patch but it looks like I didn't I'll try that next.
