Hey fellas, been playign a few games of orbis now and have managed to sort out most of the OOS errors by removing ranged combat from units.

However, when playing a MP game after researching infernal pact the demons get instantly defeated on that turn and never spawn.

works fine in SP with same options

compact enforced is not on, any ideas?
Mecurians spawn fine =S

I also had the problem with OOS errors due to ranged combat, disabling it does work. Someone suggested that it may be due to EXP gain but I haven't explored disabling that yet.

As for Hyborum, we haven't seen him yet either. No idea whats happens to him...

Is the Demons code the same as the Mercurians?

Lastly, we also got OOS on Mercenaries but its not a big deal. You have any other MP fixes/suggestions?

Maybe the game doesn't find a place to place Hyborem?

I still think Hyborem should spawn in a random AV city (preferably outside the empire of the one who researched Infernal Pact), creating a culture shock in the area and entering in war with the player it stolen the city if this player isn't following AV.

God idea Opera.

I thougt so too (about there not being room) but in the civ i made (was a fast tech to infernal pact) i made sure there was enough room by "sealing a bit off" for them.

Also been testing wih advanced starts,
in SP its fine even with very limited space they always squeeze in, but in multiplayer with the exact same options, number of civs etc nothing, even with only 2 players (so most of the map is empty)

Really clueless on this one.

Isnt there like some quick mod we can do that causes them to be created in the av holy city or something?

Personally i cant find the spawn code to check it =)

They seem to work like any other civ in multi when made playable by modding it i.e <playable>1</playable>

Their spawning code is in Assets/python/CvEventManager.py, def onTechAcquired().

In the AV holy city? Maybe, but only if it isn't owned by the player who summoned them. And no, there's no mod like this yet :)

I think it is a good idea. In my games (the few I have played in last months) they usually end on another continent/isolated island and can do nothing.

So, as Opera said, make them spawn in any AV city that does not belong to summoner team, perhaps with bonus chance to civs that follow AV (or to make things more twisted, to ones that don't follow it).
Not sure about AV holy city, Hyborem can already convert it. But if outside summoner's territory, why not add some bonus for selection...
So, the converting spell (or python spawning & converting) will make civ belong to infernal and change its base type to Infernal. Also, will remove culture of previous owner (and special buildings?) and add some infernal culture.
What do you think?

I also think Hyborem spawning in the AV holy city is the best solution. To remove the inference with their worldspell it could be changed. IMHO it should anyway be much more powerful than it is right now.

No no no. NOT in the AV HC if the summoner has it! It will be SO unfun to rush an Infernal summoning to find out that you have to lose your HC. Let the Worldspell have the effect of choosing a AV city...

What about removing the tech prereq for Hyborem's Whisper, and encouraging him to use it before building his own first city?

Yeah, but Hyborem usually spawn in an empty part of the world. So I think it would be better to make him directly spawn in a city and take it over. Of course, war would probably follow...

Exactly. And instant war would help Hyborem AI, he is weak (no cities etc, only quite strong army) so does not declare war. So is weak till the end...

So, summoned to a city with AV.
First, check AV cities of civs that do not follow AV. If so, spawn, take city, declare war.
Second, check AV cities of civs that follow AV (not the summoner). Spawn, take city. Set civ at peace with demons? Declare war on the civ? Which one sounds better?
Third, check cities of civ that summoned hyborem. Should he spawn in AV holy city or another one? I think another to let him have two with his whisper...

I like to immobilize Hyborem's starting settlers for a couple turns, mostly so that the AI doesn't build its capital in a stupid location before I can take over. That also gives them time to use their worldspell to get a better capital. Perhaps the worldspell should also teleport Hyborem and units in his stack to that city to help defend it, or maybe Hyborem ought to have Dimensional I.
