Inflation is broken and does not decay

I tried manipulating the decay rate for inflation in the XML files, but inflation due to hurry production does not decay. How can we fix this? This is apparently an outstanding issue for years.
 
No comments on this? This is a game breaking bug, present for a decade, according to a search on this forum.
 
I think I have discovered the problem. I changed the decay rate to 10000 and it did nothing. Just moments ago I changed the decay rate to 100 billion. That caused an error when loading up, but didn't negatively affect the game. After the next turn, my inflation went down to zero. I think what is happening is that I am on eternity speed, and the decay rate for eternity speed is misconfigured so there is effectively zero decay per turn. Besides A_New_Dawn_GlobalDefines.xml what files control for hurry and inflation?
 
I discovered the problem. The decay is set at 10. This was changed from a lower number a few years ago which broke the inflation hurry mechanic at slower speeds. Anyone playing this game on slower speeds must reduce it below 10. I am currently using 1, the minimum number, which is the fastest decay.
 
Mch discussion over the years about inflation decay and rate of increase. Iirc Toffer90 set it at 10 for the very reason u posted about, long game speeds...
