I recommend that a thread be created and sticky'ed here with all confirmed information about Sid Meier's Civilization V. As of time of this posting, it looks like there isn't a such thread as this yet. In past, we had similar thread like that for Civilization IV: Beyond the Sword expansion pack but I also believe they have one for original Civilization IV.

By the way, this is my first posting for quite a while. Glad to see Civilization V coming nicely so far. ;)

There's a Civ5 Info Centre thread with all known confirmed information here.

It would be nice to have one civfanatics because it is kind of annoying to have to go switching from site to site.

I would not count something which i or most users can't proof as "confirmed" ;).

I guess, it doesn't make sense to point to the german overview thread here :/.

I second this idea. I'd like to see it all in one place. I only learned about civ5 today, and find myself digging through many threads to try to find out what's in the game. And I really don't want to read thru that huge 29 page announcement thread either.

Well, I am typing up the info in that thread and I'm trying to stick to information that is from reliable sources. All the info in that thread is from the developers or from screenshots, or magazine previews. Granted, magazines get things wrong sometimes, but I am quite certain that the info compiled there has a high degree of accuracy.

Don't forget, that the user could also get it wrong, or translate it wrong.
e.g. i've added Stalin in our rumors section, but now it seems to have been a wrong info.

And i would not interpret anything from screenies (don't see, how much info is in your thread from screenshots), because if we don't know any details, we can't really interpret the screenshots.

But that's just my opinion, and it's also reasonable in the way you do it :).

Of course, that's why I also use my own judgment. For example, the user who quoted the German magazine said the English are led by Elizabeth II but I included Elizabeth I in the info center because I'm sure Elizabeth II is a mistake. Same with Stalin - I haven't added him because I don't think any review text mentioned him explicitly, it's just that someone thought he was in a screenshot.
