Installled Civ4 Gold Edition but only Warlords runs

Hi, I'm a Civ 4 neophyte, just trying to get going. I'm running under Vista on a well configured system. I've run the installer, and all goes fine, except that after installation, I insert Disc 1 and start the program, at which time Warlords starts. If I exit Warlords, the game ends. There was no option during installation to have short cuts created, and I can't find Civ4 exe file.

Am I missing something basic?

gold edition installs both but on Vista sometimes fails to create a shortcut - look for the install folder it should say something like civ4 gold edition and have various subfolders one for Warlords however in the main directory there should be the civilizationIV.exe (maybe with a slightly different name).

ori, thanks for the help...indeed there was a folder eventually found. Now I'm off top the tutorial. Cheers.
