Invasion right but 'illegal', says US hawk

Diplomacy is one hand shaking, the other concealing a dagger. Everyone does it and it's nothing new.

I think any war is illegal.
So i think there should be a new law:Ifa country starts a war, nuke it and blow it up to smithereens.
(so we will first make a tiny country declare war (like liechtenstein)
and make an example of them...... :muhahaha:

"Ye smyler withe ye dagger under ye cloake" is the exact quote, I believe. :D

I'm always amazed by just how frickin' witty and intelligent folks were centuries back, even with superstition and ignorance all around. Anyone ever read Petronius' quote about reorganization...?

the only use I found in the UN is for the diplomatic victory in Civ3 :D but in reality I agree with Churchhill "it's a joke".

As inefficient, bureocratic and (more seriously) shamelessly not kissing the rear end of the Superpower, the UN is still the best we have. If we don't agree with the current rules, then reform the rules, but have a majority (a consistent one) agree to the rules. What is important is that there should be at leaast an impression of legitimity. That legitimity would also be (in the long run) in the interest of the US, even if the Institution will not always agree with the US momentarily.

Its important to have rules, and I think just because some backwards third-world despot doesnt hold up to them, that we should stop. Isnt America suppost to be morally above such action?
incase you haven't notice, America's morals are being sold to the highest bidder.
