Invasion tactics

The AI in BtS biggest improvement in relation to invasions is knowing where to concentrate its forces. I've seen it react to my invasions by rishung units to the city my stack is heading for, which it didnt seem to do in Warlords. Question: Has anyone tried keeping a small stack, not for capturing a city but just o confuse the AI and make them disperse their forces? Would this work?

Yes, I do it anyway.

I have one SoD, then small battle groups in the hills and forrests.

Overwhelm the enemy, it wouldn't matter if you are in large stacks or small, it still will not have the man power to counter you.
