Invasive new ads

I'm still on adblock waiting until I can send money. Sorry TF! Get that rolling and I'll jump right in.

Probably a stupid question, but are we not allowed to use Adblock on CFC?

You can use whatever you want whereever you want. Tubes is magic. I feel bad because of what CCRunner said, but I just can't have some of this stuff.

Seems better now not seen a broken ad for a while.

You are, but some of us don't like to because it stops TF from getting ad revenue from our site usage.

Well I apologize to the community but I've had so many problems with malicious, invasive ads on CFC that I just installed Firefox with Adblock. Hopefully it will do the trick. I will not support a website which houses malicious ads. Sorry.

Do whatever you feel you need to protect your computer and yourself. No need to apologize or feel bad about it at all.

I will continue to talk to Telefragged and let you guys know when UGO have addressed the issue.

As I've mentioned before, if you install any modern browser and keep it up to date, the ads cannot do anything malicious.

I've also been getting "infinitely loading" ads the last 3 days. One time, I had to reboot because it locked IE up so badly. The most recent time, a few hours ago, I was redirected to a site promising free iPhones (not in a new window-a complete redirect away from CFC). During that instance, Norton recognized & blocked 2 malicious programs.

It's getting hard to visit CFC.

Maimonides, try installing Mozilla Firefox web browser and install "Adblock" on it. It should make a world of difference. I just did so and have not had any more problems with ads or malware so far. Knock on wood, it seems to have solved the problems I was having.

Yeah, this situation is getting worse for IE. I'm starting to get full blown viruses from here. There seems to be a new version of the one that brings up that scareware fake 'virus protection' software no matter what you do with your browser. McAfee(at home) and AVG(at work) aren't detecting the bad files. There's one in particular called 'iehelper.dll' that's a known malware component that isn't being caught in scans.

I'm going to have to stop using IE altogether.

What version of IE are you running?
