Points noted brian. Gandhi would give us the religions we would need to utilize the cathedrals more effectively. I'm just thinking that for the next 10 turns priority is still infrastructure oriented. If I can build an archer here or there for CG purposes and to free up our more offensive CG units, I'll definitely try it. Otherwise I'm concerned with getting workers now. Shaka, Ragnar have not gone WHEOOHRN yet (Alex declaring on Gandhi is possible but not very useful us). I would say once they do go WHEOOHRN, we can assume it would be on Gandhi and that would be a good time to make swords if don't have the ability to go cataphant then.

With that said, I'll get ready to play. I'll check during my play for any more posts but other than that, expect a writeup in the next 2 hours. Pray we become buddhists.

IHT 150 - Idiotsburgh to Worker in 4; Justiciaria to Settler in 10; MMed to work a bit more cottages. Myst now in 2 turns after adjusting slider to 20%
T151 – Pyramids built in FAL. 3Pop whip Justiciaria to get settler next turn.
T152 – Settler in, Justiciaria to worker. Shaka adopts police state, so he got the Mids... wow. Myst in, poly now in 7 at 30% with minor deficit.
T153 – Worker done, Hamsteram to research until whip unhappiness gone in 3 turns and growth in 7 turns. Stupid Ragnar's workboat that was running away from a barb galley allowed the barb galley to settle on Justiciaria's clams. Now Ragnar has gone WHEEOHRN. Hmmm...
T154 – Barb galley in pursuit of Ragnar still. Galley done, Matrix to worker. Our galley will just chill for now. Worker done, Idiotsburgh to barracks.
T155 – Barracks done, Neiliopolis to worker
    T156 – Nothing
T157 – Founded Stoner's Lagoon. Fascinating: Toku converts to Hindu. PH available for trade. Poly in, Lit in 13 at current rate.
T158 – Gandhi wants OB, I say hell no, now he's worst enemies of 4 AIs, sheesh.
T159 – Our galley dies while defending on a clam, it eats our clams. Switch Matrix to Galley from worker, will whip ASAP. Worker done, Justiciaria to workboat. Shaka builds a city in our old NW border spot.
T160 – Barracks done in Idiotsburgh, to Parthenon as a placeholder. 2Pop whip Matrix for galley, that stupid barb will eat another clam next turn. Stop here since I'm running out of time.

    Pics of note:

    Thoughts:
a)I got out a few more workers and a settler and founded our 8th city. City # 9 should be the dot in between Squaresville and Stoner's Lagoon to seal our borders nicely.
b)RNG gods decided that our galley was not worthy of their love. Going to lose 2 clams out of this, god damn it. All because Ragnar made a stupid mismove and decided to let his workboat get eaten when it still could have lived while running.
c)The Parthenon is only a placeholder in Idiotsburgh. It is however a good place to build it with the hills and a few forests. Yet again without marble so far, wonders are tough.
d)There are a few trades available but the key one I think, Maths, is still locked up.

You can take me off auto-skip again, I'm back (though still a bit slow with all them windows downloads backed up).
Actually when I mentioned about building a few units I wasn't being urgent, but now looking at Gandhi collecting all the worst enemies (bit like Pokemon there "Gotta catch get Dowed by 'em all!") and 2 WHEOOHRNs, I feel our DEFCON has gon up a few levels, and we should really be preparing for war.
If we luck out on the shrines, we will have a lovely economy for millenina to come, without having to work for it (the hippie way).

Yeah I now recall what I said about making units if Shaka/Ragnar went WHEOOHRN. Well, it would be now time to get that going as you said brian. We now have 10 workers and most of our core cities are as developed as they will be with the low happy cap, the exceptions being Stoner's Lagoon and Squaresville. So going military now is not a bad thing. I would refrain axes though, make swords, with occasional archer to relieve the chariot/axe doing CG work. We also need maths so we can go construction and get some cats and phants.

Don't forget about that stupid barb galley. Now I wish I had cancelled OB when I first started the set, kick Ragnar's boat away to the south east and the galley would have pursued the other way. No diplo penalty on cancelling OB IIRC.

Well it's been almost 48 hours since I posted the save. We should discuss and finalize our immediate objectives first, but I wouldn't hesitate to keep this game moving and skip IO, so neil you would be up.

OK, I will have a look at the save and make a few suggestions.

If IO hasn't checked in before those discusions finish, then I will play the turn.

    Right, here are some thoughts:

    - A GS will be born in Hamsterdam in 5 turns. I suggest we build an academy, then remove the 2 specialists and put them on the PH mines. Taking our hammers from 7 to 15/t.
    - Leave idiotsburgh building the Parthenon, and chop it out.
    - Stoners lagoon will expand in 5 turns, and there will no longer be enough space for anyone else to settle in the gap.
    - No more settlers yet, our research is down to 10%, so we need to let our economy catch up.
    - Qin will give us Meditation, Masonry & Priesthood for Aesthetics. I strongly recommend we take this deal. This still leaves us Aesthetics to trade with everyone else for when Maths maybe becomes available.
    - tech calender next, as this will give us +2 Happy pills. Then Monarchy for HR and even more happiness. This will allow the cities to grow big and work more cottages.
    - move the spearman and some axes to Idiotsburgh, for defense.

Love your analysis. I'm glad I'm not the only one who thought Parthenon is not a bad idea. And yes that trade is a good one.

    Just two reminders.
    1) You still have a barb galley near Matrix craving clams
    2) The roading to Shaka is nearly complete, so pray for buddhism.

Yep, that barb galley is going to eat some oar next turn. It was already damaged wasn't it??
    As for buddhism, Ommmmmm, Ommmmmmmm.........

I will play this tonight (in about 10 hours), so if there are any other thoughts, don;t hesitate.

Our galley did nick it, so the new galley from Matrix should kill it hopefully.

Probably has just doubled it. The plan is good, so don't mock the plan.

Oh nice of Shaka to settle right on our dot, by the way:lol:.

    Lurker comment:

I'm from ye olde hippy place, and I have to say, besides the lovely hemp flavor, you guys are forgetting something.

The dutch laws state that everyone from the age of 16, can legally buy low alcoholic drinks, which equal to anything that remotely resembles beer or wine.
That's right Americans, 5 years of (legal :) ) difference, so maybe you should go and get some wheat and wine too :p

Not to worry they can always come to Ireland, we just ignore the law. My brother's been drinking since he was 3.

    Aaaargh.

Had a very lengthy turnset written, and firefox crashed while I was uploading images. I'm really sorry guys.

    - Traded Aesthetics with Qin for Masonry, PH & Mediatation
    - Alex demanded PH, we gave it to him
    Spoiler :

    - Gifted Mysticcism to Shaka to improve relations
    - barb galley odds were 52%, so I moved next to it and hoped it would attack us, it did, and we won.
    - WB produced from both Matrix & Justicaaria
    - Hindu spreads to Hendrixton
    - Shaka converts to Hindu, so do we
    - GS popped in Hamsertdam -> Academy
    - 2 pop Whipped monasteries in Hamsterdam & Neilopolis
    - traded Maths for Aesthetics with Alex
    Spoiler :

    - Workers chopping around Idiotsburgh, chopping the outer perimeter first, as we may lose these tiles to Gandhi & Shaka.
    - Moved the troops around a bit, Idiotsburgh now has Axes, Spear & Chariot, with an Archer on the way.
    - Exploring warrior discovers another barb city
    - Another barb galley off the bottom of the peninsula. Chariots are observing.
    - 2 Indian archers stuck in peninsula, Shaka has 1 down there as well.
    - Gandhi has a few troops to the north of Idiotsburgh, I think they might be heading for Shakas new city

EDIT. Calender next is a must, so we can get the +2 happiness.

    Here is the empire
