IOT Developmental Thread

Vekjasfólcvíg Dev Diary Einn: What's this then, eh?
Since EurIOT went completely off-center, the new project is the following:
We have a decently low-fantasy world (no magic, clear influences from other cultures, etc) with the basic premise of an archipelago, as seen here:

(let's assume creation myth and be done with it okay)
In this part of the world, the major driving force have been the Foreldra. These Foreldra have, under their religion, expanded far across the world in the past 700 years. Their ascent was compounded upon the conquest of parts of Gardariki, where gunpowder was carried over in 1500.
However, this is not the only culture that has arisen. In Vallfadr, a Swahilimongolesque culture has arisen, which has remained fairly isolated, apart from the occasional contact with Andskoter pirates and Foreldra invasion forces. However they have always managed to survive.
On Andskoti, refugees fleeing from Foreldra justice have resigned themselves to the old ways of piracy and in a way the Andskoter are the closest the setting has to Vikings.
On Fossfold, the people declared independence from the Foreldra and founded a nation based on mercenaries and banking. Basically, these are Swiss Yiddish things.
On Nyrey, two cultures, quite distinct have sprung up. In the great forests of Eo, a culture based around hit and run (read - napoleonic vietcong) has arisen, while the Umlilo still fight with traditional methods.
It is now 1750, and revolutionary zeal is overthrowing established order after established order...
Next dev diary I'll actually go into proper game stuff.

I've cleaned this map up like four damn times. I'm not doing it ever again unless someone gives me the master map and then it gets put into the map thread OP so the dredged lake version never gets used again.

Oh, no. I already ran it three years ago. The ruleset survived the purge on the Arc called the Imperia flash drive and I just found it yesterday.

I never quite understood your need to purge rulesets. It meant I could never look to them for inspiration which was annoying.

Ah Ha, I knew there was an elitist conspiracy behind all of this.

Doesn't cavalry driving fish kind of screw over inland nations a bit?

No. If you don't have any naval provinces, the number is effectively .5 per cav. If anything, people having gigantic navies screws over cavs.

Though, I'm still balancing it out. Originally Infantry needed wool until I decided to roll that resource into being cloth-only demanded.

You know what'd be cool?

Crucible's unit system, but with a loyalty stat.

You know what would be cooler? Me working on an IOT.
