Iran, the Red Sea, and the West (tm).

My mind goes to the fact that we have already seen that missiles and drones have made tanks and planes obsolete in Ukraine. So how do we know that these ships cannot be crippled with swarms of cheap weapons? I think Russia can tell you about losing ships. We are all in a lot of trouble.

See PREY by Michael Crichton, 2002 for where we are headed.

This was a terrible act btw and I hope to find it wasn't perpetrated by a democratic nation.

The Houthis are committing piracy on the open seas. More than half the ships they have fired at or boarded were not heading to either Israel or Gaza. I suppose the Not West thinks piracy is cool.
Let's don't forget, how West closed his eyes, then SA actively bombs civilian targets and made blockade, that cause famine in houthis cites

I don’t care about the Houthis. I do care about consumer prices.

That's a premature conclusion. The Ukranian airforce was never particularly strong, and the Russian has underperformed badly.

Weak or bad airforces, lagging technologically (the both do), can be presumed to have become less relevant.

I would really welcome some insight here. Lebanon is controlled by terrorists, most of Syria also. Is Assad legitimate now? What about Turkish invasion? Russian soldiers still there? It seems all shady to blame Israel only?
Did you miss the "Not that it's the only one doing it"?
It's certainly in 'good' company, among other countries breaking international law.

Their logo says “death to America” on it. They are not our homies.

You forgot to mention Americas complicity in the on going genocide in yemen, strange that, but do go on

Alas, we shall never know why most of the world hates America, despite history providing context

I'm not sure an appeal to whether or not a group of humans are "on our side" matters when you literally just said you care more about consumer prices (i.e. things that affect you personally). What do you care if they are your homies or not? You just said you don't care about them.

If the Red Sea is closed to shipping, that’s good for pretty much nobody, whether they like Americans or not. 39 countries (thanks Perun) were already a part of anti-piracy operations off the coast of Somalia.

One of those things led to another and I don’t even have a logo.

Less polite people might imply that those holding such positions (human beings are meaningless in the face of profit/monetary value) are in effect sociopaths

And they would be correct

Is there a point to this
Absolutely there is. The Houthis attacking ships in the Red Sea, making shipping more resource-consuming and expensive, is going to affect all of us at least indirectly, and all of us includes people of lesser means. It would not be a stretch in my imagination to think that poorer countries and poorer people aren't going to be able to absorb those costs as easily as you or I could.

And the causal chain ends with the Houthi's actions? So you care about stuff only downstream of that action, and not upstream?

Why not, when those upstream actions lead to these ones that you dislike so much?

uhm , take care about creating consent ... Them people who are fed up with America and so on , if your contribution will be encouraging the uncommitted to reject your ideas . This will be offensive , so , instead of wasting time on why one should avoid stuff like some terrorist Republic and wasting more time on why ı am not defending Iran at all , let us check on the bestest ...

ı have known the Eppstein stuff would end up here since 2019 . Because the Stuntwoman . Because she was a witness in early 2000s when person A kicked person B in the name of person C . Because Hollywood is still a finite thing and everybody knows everybody (eventually) it would be like ı knew those people , child molesters and so on . Like it is not very likely that CFC will feel a need to mention the list making the rounds , because it is the rare thing that doesn't involve Hunter in the undressed form , let me tell you that it currently aims to convince the Arab streets that America is breaking the oft suggested blackmail power of Israelis and stuff . The Arab jihadists have been roughly handled by the Shia and the average Arab has higher interest in the daily life . This means an invasion of Iran is a tough sell all around . Every Arab Goverment fears Israel , as much as a majority in their public ; they have to be assured that Israel will not catch them out of steam while fighting the Shia all over the place ...

ı think 5 to 7 could have met the Stuntwoman in person , have no idea if her name is among the 4 that's redacted or something but willing to accept some idea that she might know 9 to 11 . While the list is supposedly one of contacts and not to mean they are offenders , the inclusion of British Royalty puts the blame on all ... Cate Blanchett will apparently will be defended as it is reported that Eppstein once said on the phone that he would invite her or something . So , the fault of Blanchett is then having failed to donate enough . Bruce Willis is like in no need of donating to anyone but would probably be kept in the list to threaten people's legacy and what not and can not appear on TV to support undesirables anyhow . Diaz ? That modelling era video and that movie/tape everybody searches but have not yet found and that Lady Gaga song ? Nope , still donations . George Lucas , because he didn't react or something as people did a little to sink Abrams' finest . Now that he has been donating longer than many have lived , right ?

if anyone gets ideas from third parties to convince people , ı wish them luck . For the days it will turn out there are indeed Israelis who think bad about certain countries in Europe .

What's the point of Israel committing genocide? Are the Israelis doing the planet a favor or something?

Fwiw, for me the point is that the genocide of a people should suck and frankly exerting pressure on international trade seems like a pretty legit riposte considering the disparity in power of the groups involved.

I have zero loyalty to this type of project and jsut want our part in it to end as soon as possible.
Your comment has nothing to do with what I addressed.

I've noticed in these topics where you begin with a news item but then spill out into this broad anti-Americanism or anti-whatever that I wonder what you're really driving at here.
-That countries who get their shipping attacked have only themselves to blame?
-That maybe everyone should just avoid "Houthi territory" (i.e. whoever they can shoot at) or else risk some Mid East war? The world economy be damned?
I'd like to know what you honestly think was supposed to happen when they attacked ships. As mentioned, there are several nations involved in anti-piracy in the wider Horn of Africa area.
