No sooner had I found out about Leslie Nielsen's death when words reached me that Irvin "Empire Strikes Back" Kershner had died as well.

He may not have been a very prolific director, and we could always discuss the quality of the other films he directed, but The Empire Strikes Back is the best damn film I have ever seen!

Just imagine what it would have looked like if it had been directed by someone else.
