Politically, an impeachment charade when everyone knows the Senate would loudly and clearly proclaim D'ump innocent on all counts is a massive negative for democrats and the US in general.

Itd be a mixed bag. His crimes would have to be pretty egregious for a Senate acquittal to still hurt him. If they were egregious enough theres quite a few GoP senators in purple states who'd be screwed. High stakes.

Trump allegedly disagrees with the "send her back" chants. Even if that were in any way true, he made no attempt to rebuke the crowd for it, unlike, say, John McCain in 2008.

you are caught up in the Trump said some naughty words thingy ... are you overlooking his post
    '' Trump Tweet 16th July 2019
The Dems were trying to distance themselves from the four “progressives,” but now they are forced to embrace them. That means they are endorsing Socialism, hate of Israel and the USA! Not good for the Democrats! "
some of the press called this original tweets out... but its still the trending headline 4 days latter in a 24 hour news cycle...
meanwhile while all this is going on there is no thread here or most other places about how he has changed the asylum requirements requiring asylum seekers to the US to apply in the first country they enter... your outrage over his tweets ensures that he gets what he wants accomplished...

he does this all the time ... yes orange man bad... I highly recommend you open your link... and ''allegedly'' read it...

    A couple of points.
    • Trump made no effort to stop the chant and let it go on for 12 seconds before he started speaking again. If actually disagreed with it, he would have stepped in sooner.
    • His rally in NC was scheduled for 17th as soon as he heard that Mueller was to testify that day. He wanted to be on TV that day to distract his base from any new Mueller news. Let's see what he plans for the 24th.
    • His changes in asylum rules have already gone to court and will be resolved there. The story will be back in the news when the court says he cannot change the law.

You know, for some reason Trump thought that those four Congress women were foreign-born. I wonder what it is about them that made him think that?

You are making the mistake of assuming trump supporters care about his overt racism or any of his many examples of bigotry.

    The cruelty is the point.

His only contact with non white people is through the illegals he hires at his clubs and he has extrapolated that all non whites are here illegally and need to be deported unless they work for him. And, they often get more television coverage than he does and he wants it all.

Don't forget his ire towards black people either, he still thinks the central park 5 are guilty and at this point the only reason can be is his animus towards African-Americans

surely such a renowned poster such as yourself can come up with a reasoned response above the level than all illegal immigrants must work for Trump...
"don't forget" just call every body that disagrees with you a racist Its normally how TDS works...

I find that "idiot" applies far more often than "racist." Then there is "intentionally uninformed internet troll." Or an assortment of off color words that can't be used here. Surely such a recognized poster as yourself can think of someone to which they all seem to apply.

I went and looked it up on Wikipedia:

On May 1, 1989, Donald Trump, a real estate magnate, called for the return of the death penalty in full-page advertisements published in all four of the city's major newspapers. Trump said he wanted the "criminals of every age" who were accused of beating and raping a jogger in Central Park 12 days earlier "to be afraid".[39][40] The advertisement, which cost an estimated US$85,000 (equivalent to $172,000 in 2018),[39][40] said, in part,

"Mayor Koch has stated that hate and rancor should be removed from our hearts. I do not think so. I want to hate these muggers and murderers. They should be forced to suffer ... Yes, Mayor Koch, I want to hate these murderers and I always will. ... How can our great society tolerate the continued brutalization of its citizens by crazed misfits? Criminals must be told that their CIVIL LIBERTIES END WHEN AN ATTACK ON OUR SAFETY BEGINS!"[41]

With a nice ad urging for re-legalising lynching and all.

Somebody who specifically wants to rule by fear, who justifies and ‘end to civil liberties’, and who expresses a will for hate is the candidate of those who claim to follow the same God of Love as I do. :cringe:

The key point is that there are no rules for conducting the impeachment hearing. The Senate makes the rules, then conducts the hearing. So you can basically assume that with the current senate the rules would be "we allow ten minutes, since we really don't need to see any evidence anyway." Then they would announce that they saw no evidence of any crimes by the president and issue a stinging rebuke to the house about how they were wasting time that should be spent on legislation to help the country instead of witch hunting the president. Nothing good could possibly come of it. People who watched the process would know it was a sham, but those people are as locked into opposition to D'ump and his turtle bodyguard as they can be.

I'll leave that here and am curious what you guys think of the Mulvaney Administration:

"The Trump Show you see: Racist tweets, demagogic chants at rallies.

What you don’t see: Regulatory enforcement so lax white-collar defense firms worry they’ll lose clients, air pollution rising for the first time in years."

Please read what I wrote. To help, though, I will explain it.

The point raised was why would Trump think that those women were foreign born. I said that his limited contacts with non whites was through the illegals at his clubs (he does hire them for his clubs) and therefore he thinks that all non whites are illegals. I said nothing about all illegals. i did say that Trump thinks of all non whites as illegals who should be sent home. The conversation was only about Trump and his perspective on non whites. Telling American born citizens and members of congress to go home to their sh!thole countries and fix them is pretty telling.

I certainly did not call anyone but Trump a racist. Truth in advertising: I did say in another thread that my ancestors were probably racist.

Are claiming that Trump is not racist? I would certainly love to hear your reasoning on that.

Thank you for calling me "renowned", but a better word choice would have been "strongly opinionated". :)

Actually the best word for distinguishing you from him would have been "respected."
