Is Donald Trump Done for?

Totally a possibility. If it a her it's even more important to keep the identity secret since the right seems to get especially nasty when slandering a woman. Although...if it's someone odious like Gina Haspel, maybe I'd be fine with that.

The only reason anyone wants to know the identity of the "whistleblower" is so they can slander him. Laura Ingraham used a whole segment insinuating that Vindman is some kind of spy. It was a display that would've made Rachel Maddow proud if they weren't on opposite sides.

I think that it is obvious this won't lead to Trump being removed from office. So nothing is to be gained out of this procedure either - and it was always bad that it tied to Biden.

I mean it's funny because "the Democrats' corruption" actually just translates to "capitalism" in this post. Can I welcome you to the socialist movement as of this moment?
Some time ago (I think it was in regards to Warren's various plans for intelligently targeted subsidies) I asked you where you think the state hires people to direct state-run enterprises and make the "intelligent" decisions. Who gets to hold the cash and be courted by people craving it? You didn't respond. They will private sector people with experience in the industry and/or finance: elite, northeastern bankers and corporate board members. Goldman Sachs is the nation's number one supplier. Corporatism is how socialist laws and institutions are implemented in real life, regardless of how far you can stretch the definition of capitalism.

I didn't respond because I couldn't even begin to sort through the false premises built into the question. And so it proves with this, er, "response."

Let's try a different tack: do you think Hunter Biden is the first person in US history to get paid fat money to sit on a corporate board doing nothing much?

As long as this is in the news, Biden is being politically collaterally damaged right along with Trump, which of course helps Bernie. So would you say you don't see any gain from that?

Of course you wouldn't... so stop complaining about it already. Unless your complaints are just a veiled defense of Trump :mischief:... in which case... you do you :p

That doesn't make any sense :p Biden's dead, m8 - that Trump is deranged and went after him doesn't mean your country gains by this process which isn't to lead to removing Trump.

I hope not, but the polls (facts) are stubbornly disagreeing with you... just sayin';)
I think that this part is the core of Sommerswerd's arguments. Just because he hopes that Joe Biden does not win the presidential nomination does not mean that Sommer cannot accept the fact that Biden is currently in the lead.

Please note that corporatism refers to a style of government that seeks to formally integrate social and economic interests into the structure of government. Historic examples include the Catholic Church and the more conservative -particularly German- style of European Social Democracy. It is not 'rule by corporations' that you seem to believe it means.

Yes, well, a large majority of Tristan's posts here seem to merit a memetic response by Fezzik.

@Takhisis Eh, that's something I see a lot of people doing. I know it was something I did until someone (probably Traitorfish, Park, or Masada corrected me.)

Thanks for this. It must leap out for someone who tracks the meaning of the words (though obviously you knew what he meant). It's like when someone calls me a 'neurologist', when I am certainly not! Anyway, would a better term be 'Corporatocracy'?

Remember that Fezzik says ‘you keep saying that word’. Even when corrected. Everyone makes mistakes, but not everybody insists on them.

Damn, went golfing and didn't know Volker and Morrison were scheduled for today.

Apparently Zelensky released the records recently. Hunter was paid 80k a month and over 3 million total while his dad was the VP. Eric Swalwell farted live on MSNBC last night, producing the most solid argument I have heard to date why investigating Democrats' corruption should be illegal.

Was that 3 million up until Biden was replaced by Pence in Jan 2017 or a total for 2014-2019?

The only reason anyone wants to know the identity of the "whistleblower" is so they can slander him.

If you hear a damaging rumor dont you want to know the source so you can judge their credibility? The pursuit of justice requires knowing the accuser's identity, it aint slander if its true.

Also, is Vindman the one who leaked the story to some un-named intelligence official, with the latter being the infamous 'whistle-blower'? If so, again, why all this charade? If so, wouldn't the whistleblower be outed anyway (if he is that intelligence officer), and if not how would they not know who said whistleblower is?

I have to rewatch today's testimony but it does appear Vindman is the leaker, he testified he told some people about the call before being told by a lawyer to not tell anyone. Vindman used the word 'demand' to characterize Trump's request for a favor and apparently the whistle blower did the same thing. The problem is other people are claiming they didn't hear a demand so it probably comes down to a matter of interpretation.

I keep hearing Democrats ask witnesses if its okay for Trump to ask another government to help investigate a private citizen and political opponent. Biden wasn't a private citizen, he was the VP in charge of US policy in a country that interfered in our election on behalf of Biden's ally and party nominee. Ukraine was not asked to investigate Biden's behavior after becoming a private citizen, just what he did as VP.
