Is Globe Theatre worth it for CV?

I don’t see the appeal behind getting the Globe Theatre if you’re going for a cultural victory. The bonuses to me seem very lackluster to me:
• free great writer is nice of course
• two writing slots, but you’ll never fill all your writing slots anyway
• theming bonus is 10 gold, which is welcome but not as cool as culture
• 1 GAP per writer/artist/musician specialist seems to be almost worthless to me; your number is limited because of the limit to guilds, and even with max WAMs being worked in a tradition game it really seems unnoticeable

Worst, it comes at the same time as SO many important cultural wonders (Leaning Tower, Uffizi, Sistine Chapel) that even if it’s a free grab you’re increasing the cost of other, more important wonders. I’d even argue it’s almost a trap because it’s the earliest of these but by far the least worth the hammer cost. Am I totally misunderstanding its use?

As others said, you can translate it's yields to 1 free great writer + 18 GAP/turn. Seems lackluster for a wonder at that time compared to others avaliable.

I can only remember building in in games where I was miles ahead anyway and could grab any wonder I want.

If your question is only about cultural victories, the answer is usually no. Its not very powerful in terms of tourism, and other wonders are better.

If you have tradition, it compares very, very poorly to the Leaning Tower of Pisa regardless of what win condition I'm pursuing. I would much rather spend my hammers and science attempting that wonder. I'd take a 50% chance at the leaning tower over a 100% chance of Globe Theatre. I might build both, but that usually means I'm just doing really well overall.
If you want golden ages, its so bad compared to Chicken Itza.

For non culture-victories, situations where you build this wonder just to get the writer as a culture bomb, its pretty good. You should just view it as an alternate Oracle. Someone who researches printing press early (perhaps pursuing a diplomatic victory?) can use it to get ahead in culture.

Writers give 5 turns of immediate culture, right? That's competitive with Sistene Chapel. There are a lot of situations I'd rather have the writer now than +10% for the rest of the game.
