Is it my driver that gives me problems?

Hi everybody. I recently got a laptop and I'm having trouble installing Civ IV. When I put the CD into the drive, nothing happens. When I go to manually start the setup.exe file I can hear my computer start to buzz for a bit, and then nothing happens.

Because I've been having issues, I decided to install the demo from the official website to see if the game can even play once I've installed it. Every time I've played, I can go for about 50 or so turns before I get an error message saying something about losing whatever I was working on and there's an option to debug(whatever that means).

Ok so I think there might be two problems going on. I can't install the game because my CD-ROM drive is messed up. And I can't play the game because my video card is insufficient or my driver is messed up.

Here's my laptops info:

It also might just be my graphic settings, which I have no idea what they should be. Can anybody give me some help? Thanks guys.
