Is it theoretically possible to build every wonder in a single game?

If you play on lower difficulties, sure. The AI will be so far behind you because you will get workers and settlers from ruins, will have no happiness problems etc. I played a game on Settler a couple of months ago to get the Steam achievement and wiped the continent with a huge number of units so quick it felt like there was something going wrong. No one built any wonders in the 100 or so turns before I won.

even the ideology uniques? You'd have to have civil unrest in order to switch ideology but is that even possible, you'd have to deliberately gimp yourself to allow to be pressured

Oh well, probably not those ones, but seriously why would you go anything other than Freedom if you were wonderwhoring?

I say post a map on Settler. Call it the 'Every Wonder Challenge' and invite people to play. Egypt/Pangaea/Standard/Standard with a great start should have a fair chance, I'd say.

Well yeah, the obvious challenge wasn't "build as many wonders as you can" but "build EVERY POSSIBLE wonder", and I'm not sure that's theoretically possible. At best, you'd have every wonder minus the two other ideology uniques. Even if you gimp yourself deliberately by not creating any great work and saving up every GWAM, can you get pressured by both other ideologies so that you can switch two times

For the ideological wonders you want to propose a different ideology to the one you originally picked. When passed you can switch. Repeal and propose the last ideology, when it passes you can switch to that one.

In BNW, it's not assured even with a capital that is coastal on flood plains next to a mountain on Settler. Sure, one of the AIs will definitely choose one of the ideologies you didn't, but there are games in which one of the ideologies won't be chosen at all. This will make it impossible to get the votes needed to make the last ideology the world one to cause yourself the ideological unrest you need to switch to it.

Yes, it can be done. I just did it (as Egypt, obviously) on a normal size Continents map with 8 civs and 16 city-states, on Settler difficulty. I had one-city challenge turned on as well. Had to restart a dozen times or so to find a city site on the coast, on or next to desert and within two of a mountain, which is the site you need for this. To get the different ideologies you need to have enough votes in the world congress to get anything passed, which is easy after a while because you're allied with all 16 city-states, and then get the next ideology you want voted in as the World Ideology. That will cause enough unrest that you can switch to it, then next time you vote to repeal it, and then next time you vote for the next ideology. I won a cultural victory before getting all the wonders, and could have had a diplomatic victory as well, but kept on going and finished the International Space Station in 2040.

Well yeah, the obvious challenge wasn't "build as many wonders as you can" but "build EVERY POSSIBLE wonder"
But it's not so obvious, there needs to be clearly defined parameters for the task. In addition to building all the ideological wonders, there's also the question of SP-locked wonders. To hit all of those, you'd need to at least open all 9 SP trees. And then there's the ideological wonders. And what about terrain-locked wonders (Macchu/Niesch, Petra, Colossus/Lighthouse)?

I tried once on Prince. Got everything except great lighthouse due to no coastal capital and went for colossus first in expo. I'm sure it's very doeble since im still a mediokre player.
