Is the demo worth it to make a decision?

I'm asking for 2 reasons:

1) I'm debating buy Civ V
2) I don't know if it'll run on my machine (i get complaints about my graphics card with Civ IV)

The Demo is free...so yeah, it's worth it. And it will probably help you see if your system can run the machine.

If you have the download capacity available, then yeah I would download it just to see if your card handles it. Once you buy it, you cant return it, so it might be worth gettting the download.

The demo is good for making sure you can run the game, it is not really for figureing out if you like the game.

Just buy the game. It's great. The only thing you need to make a decision about is when. If you don't want to deal with a few bugs / a little AI strangeness then wait for a patch or two. If you don't care and just want to play just buy it now and enjoy it.

Well, I've decided to download the demo first, simply because of the high cost of the game here in Australia-coupled with the fact that I don't know how well it will work on my computer (I think I *just* exceed some of the Minimum Requirements, but that might not suffice). If it runs, but is seriously laggy, then I'll probably postpone my purchase of the full game til *after* I've upgraded my computer (Quad-core & about 4 Gig of RAM should be more than adequate ;) ).

Aussie.

Being a demo, it isn't going to let you do everything and so you only get a taste of the game play. One thing it doesn't let you know is how well it will play on larger maps. That could be important for some people.

So all I know performance wise is my machine can run the small map demo pretty fast and smooth on the highest graphics levels with a quad core duo chip (not i3/i5/i7), 4GB ram and an ATO 5670. That is encouraging, but I still have a few doubts about the larger maps.
