Ive been playing this game and in 1950 I win a cultural victory... I do not want the game to end now so Im wondering if there is a way to change the victory conditions.

Any help would be appreciated

Thanks

When you use the editor to edit the rules, and then save it, those are the new rules. Any saved game you load at that time will be subject to those rules. So yes, just edit the rule file and save it. The rules in your ongoing game are now changed.

I dont know if you misunderstood me or the other way around... I have a .sav file in which I would like to change the victory conditions so that a cultural victory isnt possible. How do I do this? Do I really use the CivEdit? Isnt that for scenarios? .bic files?

Please help...

Hello,

I know what you mean. The same thing happened to me and i was quite upset But what i did was after i won I just let the ending continue on then i was asked if i wanted to continue my game. So just win the game then keep clicking next through all of the different things and you should be asked to continue the game. I hope this helps.

Maybe I'm doing something wrong, but whenever I make a change to the civ3mod.bic file, I can no longer load my saved games. It gives me an error message when I try. New games work fine though. Any thoughts?

Zippo,
what changes are you making?

He didn't do anything wrong (and I am sure Zippo found it out by now...:D ) Once you add something, like a new unit or a new government (changing unit stats or requirement not counted) you will no longer be able to continue with your old savegames. Meaning if you downloaded a mod from this forum and use it as your new Civ3mod.bic with the new government and/or new units, you gotta start a new game. Its that simple, mate:D
