Is there a way to slow the calendar down

I like this system, but the calendar moves to darn fast. 40 years at a time.
I was still researching ancient techs and we were in the AD period already....

In that case please post your settings, i mean what game speed you have chosen, so we can help to get this fixed.
For me i played a great game on a huge map on marathon and it was to slow in some instances (but i love it slow).

Play on Normal speed, its the only speed that is viable. The rest are well obsolete. As a matter of fact, they wont be available in v4. You will just have 4 options all based in and around Normal speed, too many techs have been added to balance all speeds, its down to the "max" beaker limit that CiV currently has.
