Is this hypocritical?

Was the Trinity Church hypocritical in receiving grant money from the US government?

Huh,

Isn't one of Bush 2's initiatives the Faith-Based Initiative for Churchs, giving those organizations grants for community outreach and day care and what-not? So Trinity, a HUGE chuch, got 15 million in grants to run programs in their community.

I'm...not really seeing how you're skewing this here.

Well there you have it. I have a couple of questions of our OT folks in relation to this story.
Are you a internet forum republican pundit? Or am i missing something?

First off a poll to indicate whether you think the leadership of the Trinity Church was indeed hypocritical to take 15 million dollars in grants all the while labeling the government as anti-black, GD the USA, or the US of KKK?
It can be plausible that it is not a hypocrisy when you make a statement that you do not think the federal government is doing enough for the black community, yet still recieve money from them.

Secondly, do you think it worth looking into how that 15 million was procured for the church over the years in consideration of Barack Obamas run for president? We already had a similar story recently in which Obama was named as helping out Father Pfledges catholic church receive 100,000 for a civic center. Does it influence your opinion of Obama if we find he indeed help procure any of this grant money for the Trinity Church?
I think what you are doin here is vainly trying to associate Barak Obama's name with the pastor, when in fact Obama has already made a public statement distancing himself from the pastor's views and the church as well.

By all means discuss.
Just another smear campaign. And a distraction from the more important things.

You gotta go to church first. I havent ever been in a church that was critical of the government. /shrug.

Hmm. That I grew up Catholic and I'm reminded of Protestant Churches who spoke against Kennedy's Catholicism as some sort of proxy Pope, and rather angrily, and KKK-like, I'm reminded of. Now Im not Catholic now, but...

I'm also reminded that every year here in DC there is an anti- Roe v Wade march support by Catholic Clergy where they claim that the government is damning babies to hell and its a pretty nasty little march. Alot of us bureaucrats are accosted by protestors, and theyre all bused from churches.
