Is this match still worth playing?

See screenshot below. Basically, just as I am about to build my second city, the stupid teammate French AI (3vs3) decides to build a 'parasite' city right next to my capital, sapping my precious resources. I do like the map and seed, however. Is it worth continuing do you guys think?

Yes, just conquer Orleans. He does not have any military units near the city and his capital seems a bit far away. Build some units ASAP in Washington and take it. Besides, it's turn 65, why have you not already built some military units?

The French are on my team, set up in the advanced options section of game setup. This means it is a permanent alliance of sorts? I suppose I might be able to trade for the city eventually, but I've tried once and he denied, it's a long shot... And I do have military units, I just pretty much had to send them down to stop England from getting owned by the Barbs, and to take out Barb outposts myself. It's unbelievable that even on Prince difficulty, the AI is unable to defend itself from Barbs.

I think you should see it out and report back on how this might've affected your gameplay. I like it when I get something that is out of the ordinary just to see how everything plays out for better or worse. Keeps the game interesting.

Everytime the French are invovled in one of my games they do this. I haven't played with teams, but they always spam a city right next to mine even when their capital isn't even close by. Its annoying.

At least he settled 4 tiles away. My last game I played two different civs both put their cities within 3 tiles of mine. I mean, come on. They're screwing themselves as much as they're screwing me. The AI should not ever build a city within 4 tiles of another city when the map is still wide open with plenty of space to settle in. One of those I even saw the guy escorting his settler right next to me and told him not to settle near me and he basically told me to shove off and did it anyway.

Oh, I don't know about that. Cities three tiles from your territory make fantastic siege engines during a war, and are a great place to base mounted attacks from (especially for Alex's CC). If I see an AI settle three tiles from one of my bases when better options exist, I infer that we're going to be at war shortly.

And, of course, I raze the city once the war begins.

You can't draw the same conclusion when the tile is 4 spaces away. Leave the option to have the AI show prospective city placements on. This will tell you where the AI will want to settle, and you can plan your own city placements accordingly. It is programmed to settle four tiles away, if it deems the site worthy.
