It won't work. AAAAAUUUGGGGHHHHHHHHHH!:mad: :mad: :mad: :mad: :mad: :cry: :cry:

I start the game it goes to the main page, pick map sizes, etc.
Pick my civ and leader.
English-Victoria.
I say start game.
It says done and I hear voice of intro.
Then all the sudden the game slowly goes down to the bottom of the screen.
What's happening?

I don't suppose you have a key on your keyboard stuck, do you?

AlCosta, I have the exact same problem. What sort of a system (processor, video card, etc) are you running?

I have an HP Pavillion:
AMD Athlon XP+ 3200 (2.2 GHz)
512 RAM
64 Meg NVidia GeForceMX 440

This is very frustrating.

I think I have the same problem. :mad: What is actually happening in mine is that when the game starts my gold sword cursor freezes, but my mouse is actually still working, but I have no visible cursor. Hence, move the mouse down and the screen goes down. The cursor works fine right up until the game is starting, then it simply disappears. I have tried both a Microsoft Intellimouse (non-cabled) and a cabled Microsoft Mouse, same problem with both.

I do also have an HP, although it has the intel processor. Somehow, I bet the AC97 soundcard will be the problem

Dell Dimension 4600
Pentium 4 2.8 GHz
512 GB of RAM
No Idea About Video Card, but I'm sure it works because a site said it did.

I actually read ReadMe, so now I'm trying what it says.

Samething happens to me. Do you hear Nimoy's voice?

I remember hearing it the first time I tried. Always had the cursor freeze at the same point, the start, using Alexander (Greeks). Tried the tutorial and it seemed to run fine. Tried Caesar (Romans) and I could actually start the game, but it eventually froze. :confused:

Most disappointing, I think the game was rushed. Too many folks having problems, or so it seems. :sad:

I surely hope not. It's worked fine for me all the way through the beta.

Have any of you tried going into the Config.ini file and changing to Windowed mode? Just find the line that says

FULLSCREEN = 1

and change it to

FULLSCREEN = 0

I got it to work. It was just that I hadnt done the disk defragmentizing. Doesnt work as well as Civ3 did, but sacrifices could be made.

Is it still working for you? I got mine running by running some Norton utilities, and was in Heaven! Alas, the mouse cursor eventually froze up on me and no matter how much I play now, it will always evenetually freeze up again.

Mine does the same thing. As soon as it initializes and should show me where my first move will be it disappears.
