Italian civilization for Varietas Delectat

I have no idea about what is a 3x3 or a 2x2 leaf!
No prob, but it's exactly what causes your problem. The goodies I've added crop / overlap with the surrounding buildings because there is not enough space for them. You could decrease the buildings size as you probably used to, but simply reserving more space might be a better solution. 2x2 and 3x3 leafs are about the size of that reserved space. Can't tell you how large a 1 in this context exactly is, but the values show you that 2x2 and 3x3 are both quadratic and of course 3x3 is larger then 2x2. There are also 2x1 and 3x2 and 1x1 leafs, but 3x3 should be your choice, I'd say. You can adjust it by editing the following line in the Civ4ArtDefines_Building.xml file:
<LSystem>LSYSTEM_3x3</LSystem>
Yours is probably different from the one above, but mine should work for you. you can look up valid avlues for that entry by taking a look at the CityLSystems.xml. No need to mod that one, it's brutal. Still, search for LSYSTEM_3x3 in that file and you'll know where to search if you run into similar problems next time.
 
I will try to move the statues to hide the fact that they are 2D, but I don't know if I will have success (no skills about this stuff! :p). About the size, I think I will reduce the scale of the whole building, because the windows are larger than the windows of other houses
And, also, I will try to make a button..

I've tried to move the statues around and nearer the building, but there's no way to hide in Civilopedia the fact that they are 2D; it should be possible only when the building has a sort of a ...I don't know the exact word in english.. a socket, a niche.. but it's a workshop, not a church..
Anyway it's fine to me!

I've downloaded and extracted the file, but I don't have a "Varietas Delectat" folder? :/ (I have it installed though?)

Check if you have installed properly Varietas Delectat (i.e. selecting the mod from BtS)

If it works, usually the folder is under:
C:\Program Files\Firaxis Games\Civilization IV\Beyond the Sword\Mods\

The best news are the new Cavour LH (what is more appropriated than him to celebrate this day? :) ) by The Capo (thank you!! :worship: )

I was just going over your NEW Italian Civ and noticed a few errors with the Audio files you have marked Doesn't work?

Its really easy to fix, PM me if you want some info, or if you want to know here just write here.

It took me about five hours of doing things to get the Israel Civ sounds working correct, but its so simple to fix, NOW.:crazyeye:;)


But if your doing this JUST for VD (in module form), then alot is wrong. (No offense):rolleyes: Which in essence is from Quot Capita, i believe.

I really appreciate if you can explain to me how to fix Audio files, but I think that some non-modular xml files of Varietas Delectat must be modded, not only the modular xml of Italian civ..

According to "Lemon Merchant" the version 1.0 of your Italian Civ wont; wandering if you fixed that in this new Version;

Also, it may be usefull to edit the first post in this Thread Adding a list of mod with your civ will wrk with;

I didn't realize that there is a BAT expansion including avain's MEE and VD civilizations!
I'm trying to understand why Italy has those problems; perhaps they come from the fact that you can't install the Italian civ without the MEE support (because it has not an installer, you simply have to copy and paste the files in the proper folder). This means that you are constrained to play Italy with MEE new units and players, who don't want them, don't have to install Italy.
Anyway, actually the v.3.0b is not 100% compatible work with BXP, I hope I will solve the issue a.s.a.p.

I had just found another Italy civ when I found this... it has most of features I miss from other, such as Cavour & Lorenzo de Medici and an art-focus. :)


Can I ask you if you can get an eye on that (it is in this same forum) and ask him for his UU Carabiniere and Garibaldi as Great General?

I think it would be good to have the best of both mods in one so I can play Italy civ once and the best.

I have a few ideas if you're still working on.
 
Not sure if you're still around but I have a couple of questions.

1. I'm planning (and have started work on) a mod which includes an Italian civ (albeit with some differences). Would it be OK for me to use your work and mess around with it slightly (as it has the UU and UB artwork I need)? Not detracting from your excellent work of course, my Italy just happened to be already planned before I found this. :)
2. What do the borders look like in-game, and especially against America's?

It'd be great if you could get back to me on these questions, but it's OK if you don't.
 
Hi, I'm sorry but the file is no longer available in the database due to the site-death of AtomicGamer. Is there any chance it could be uploaded somewhere? Or even the Bersaglieri graphics, since those are the ones I'm looking for?

If there's any other mod that utilizes the graphic in question, I would like to know where I could find it. Thanks.

I'm also interested in the files, especially in the voice set.
Does anyone know if it's different than the commonly used italian unit sounds?
