I'm on the fence about the whole thing. I can maybe see this hurting him with undecided voters of Chinese descent. They may not be so quick to brush off a potential PM invoking the Chairman.

I emailed the Green Party about the homeopathy thing and they wrote me back within a half an hour:

which as you see says nothing about homeopathy. I wrote back and quoted the sections from their "Vision Green" document that talk about it and asked for more clarification.

I also asked her what sort of checks and balances they have in their democratic process to prevent an ignorant (or malicious) majority from inserting nonsense into their charter.. Also asked if that's how homeopathy made it in there. We'll see what they say

I'm pleasantly surprised at the quick response though - makes me feel like I'm actually a part of the democratic process.. which I'm not really, but it's a nice feeling anyway :)

Actually, the party is pretty inclusive to its members. We voted on the charter last year.

I caught that too, I figured it was really just a poor choice of words rather than anything else.

The bit that the GPC rep. is quoting from is also from the same policy platform document.. sounds like damage control.

The French debate was quite a bit livelier. But Harper played the ghost card. At some point I wondered if he was gone or asleep. Also, the way he stares at other leaders when they are talking... He looks like he's not listening! Like... staring while thinking of puppies or donuts while hearing Ignatieff's voice sort of muffled in the background.

The Sun is really grasping for straws on this one. Seriously. But of course, that's what they usually do.

Like the debate as a whole, this will have about zero impact on the election results.

The flower thing has got the crazies coming out of the woodwork screaming "SOCIALISM!"

It's crazy.. I didn't see the debate so I had to look what the hell they were talking about

The crazy thing is, if you read the article in my link, the columnist really focuses on Mao's bodycount. It seems they are suggesting that if elected, Ignatieff is likely to establish prison camps for dissidents.

I'm hoping that this sort of "journalism" will prove ineffective, but I am a little concerned that I may be wrong.

    Repeat a lie often enough...

Seriously I pass before Sun newspaper boxes (Ottawa sun, same difference) everyday going to school.

There's been one day so far the whole campaign that their front page wasn't a direct and blatant attack on the liberals or on Ignatieff personally. This HAS got to violate advertising laws somehow...

Friend sent me another poll that, aside from the usual horse racing, keep showing the same picture of rising Laytonmania in Quebec - 23.7% vs 29% Bloc province-wide, and 30% NDP/25% Libs / 20% Bloc in Greater Montreal (versus 40% Bloc a few weeks ago).

Please, please, please let this be real...*fingers crossed* (Not that I want the NDP in, I want the Bloc out. Their only achievement is making Quebec increasingly irrelevant.)

Got mobbed by David McGuinty supporters today. A few wouldn't take, "I'm not eligible to vote" as an answer, as if that was my convenient lie instead of admitting I'd vote Conservative or something.

Going by last election, I think this riding is safe enough Liberal I might actually talk my wife into voting Green, which is who CBC's little poll put her nearest.

Thus far I've seen maybe a half dozen Conservatives signs, 1 or 2 Liberal signs, and a Green sign. My riding is obviously in the grips of a tight race.

The wind came along and took out a row of Conservative party signs last night, so the Liberals are now ahead in my riding. :D

I've seen a lot of NDP, Con, Liberal and Green signs in that order. Really hoping the NDP wins, it was a tight race in the last provincial election (just over 1000 votes between the BC Liberals and NDP) and close in the previous Federal election between the NDP and Cons too.

The NDP here leads over the Liberals in signage over a wide margin. They'll take this seat.

Because city bylaw officials keep removing the Liberal ones :p

I've seen 3 giant Jason Kenney signs, two of which were vandalized within days. Couple smaller Green signs along the road, 1 Liberal sign.
