. . . that after popping a GP at 3000 points (a personal best) the next one needs not 3200 but 3300 points, and presumably then 3600, 3900 and so on. This does not appear to be documented anywhere that I can find.
Does the step go up to 400 points at some stage ? Is the sky the limit ?

For the first ten GP the GPP required for the next one increases by 100. For the next ten the GPP required for the next one increases by 200. For the next ten after that by 300 and for the next ten after that by 400. It continues like this afaik.

Also, remember to multiply this with the game speed modifier (100% for standard).

That's odd, where did you get this info? On marathon, GPP increments are 300, from 1st GP to...I reached the point of 6900, there was always increase of 300 to get next GP.

Nearly all info in the game is available in the XML files.

Actually, 6900 is impossible on Marathon. It's 300, 600, ..., 3000, 3600, 4200, 4800, 5400, 6000, 6600, 7200. There never is one at 6900. Check your game again, you'll see.

Speaking of personal best, I wonder how high people get in the GP points. I once got up to 4200 on normal speed playing Alexander. So, that's 24 Great Peoples total.
