I will take two more players before closing the roster.

Experience and availability is a must.

This will be an aggressive game.:ninja:

:ninja: :suicide: :ar15:

Fight To the DEATH!

Aw man, it isn't an archipelago... ;) Actually I rather like the continent.

I hope this allows me to use my suicidal tactics of removing defensive units from a city to attack when attacks have failed... :) Becasue I do that. I don't want my attack to go to waste :D

Hmmm....

Sign me up.
I better not hear any arguements on experience -
unless you want to argue with Monarch. :crazyeye:

Lkendter - No arguments here! In fact I think you will like my opening strategy alot...

I'll keep it a surprise for now. ;)

Glad your with us General Lee. :)

Ohwell - There should be some real good naval battles with continents. I plan on it.

Thanks for joining us! Its going to be like the 1st German SG, only better!

5 is good enough - start this puppy.

What surpise - that you attack instantly?

:die!:
Surprise!

I will restrain myself this time. ;)

And yes, Im starting now, and Im putting you right after me, so get ready. :p

4000BC
The city of Kyoto is founded, and workers are sent to irrigate cattle pastures, ensuring a properous future for this settlement.
Warriors are trained, so that someday we may kill neighbors we dont like. Oh, and to explore too. :D

3550BC
During our wanderings, we confront Aztec jaguar warriors, and a meeting is held with their leader, Montezuma. He is a funny looking fellow, and wears feathers.
Monty trades us knowledge of Pottery in exchange for The Wheel and 4 gold.
He is polite towards us.

Almost immeadiately, we discover a tribe called Persians near us too. Their leader is an arrogant man, Xerxes, and although annoyed with us, trades us for knowledge of the wheel. We now have Masonry skills, and Xerxes is merely "cautious".

I would like to start Pyramids, but more settlers are needed for now, and Kyoto must build them.

3000BC
The Ghuzz tribe is so impressed with us, they join our society. Osaka is founded on the spot.

We meet the Russians, and their fat leader, Catherine, who is annoyed with us. During negotiations, we get knowledge of Warrior Code and Bronze Working for the wheel and 75 gold.
Fatty Cathy is now also cautious.

2550BC
Aryans raid the just-founded town of Edo, but since our settler was escorted by a warrior, they are defeated and our troops become veteran! The people begin work on our palace.

Ok, Lee is up next, then Ohwell.

Wine and Spice is abundant near Kyoto, and horses are near Edo.

We should expand AGGRESSIVELY for a few more turns, there is prime real estate up for grabs, and Persia, Aztec and Russia are going for it. Lets get it first.

Alphabet will be done in 5 turns, instead of 25, as I cranked the science rate up to 90% from 20%, and still make 1 gold per turn.

Lkendter can make some hard decisions about what is next. I propose Writing, but its his call.
I wanted to start the Pyramids, and surprise you Lee, but settlers are more pressing right now.

We could be a great empire with some fast and furious expansion.

The white dots are not exact spots, just crucial areas IMHO.

The Aztecs beat me twice to goody-huts, so now everyone has Alphabet and Mysticism except us. Damn jaguars are fast!

X-man and Monty were not willing to trade either. So we will have to research it ourselves, or get more cash.

This should be a real fun SG. I like it alot so far.

Good luck, Lee.:goodjob:

Preturn -
Well let's take break from the mess I created in the Thrawn game.
A good start???? - This position positively BITES!
I am forced to build settlers in our only good production city.
The odds of an early wonder are low.
I switch Edo to barracks - I hate non vet troops.

2470 BC - I spot another border, it looks like the French color.
I spot a second border, I think it is Russian.
Horses on the road net.
Edo needs growth, so I begin irragating.
2430 BC - Kyoto orders barracks, I want escorted settlers with good troops.
Osaks produces worker, I order barracks.
2390 BC - France are confirmed, they won't trade.
Begin research on writing, however I have no idea where we will build the Great Library.
2270 BC - Russian borders are confirmed.
Tokyo is formed, I would have preffered a square further from Kyoto, but this gets wines and the wheat square now. Tokyo orders barracks.
Kyoto finishes barracks, order defense for the next settler.
Edo orders Spearman.
2110 BC - Frag a barb camp.
Add the Indians to the list of know civs.
Thank you barbs - 44 gold to French, and we learn Mysticism.
We are still behind on Iron working at least.
2070 BC - I don't know why, but the palace expands.
Spearman completed in Kyoto, can skim a worker in 2 turns.
Goody hut spotted, can I get it?
Osaka orders spearman.
2030 BC - OK, pop the goody hut - Of course, angry barbs :(
Time for another settler in Kyoto.
1950 BC - Threat from Persia, I hate to lose $20, but we would crumble like a deck of cards right now.
Edo completes spearman, orders settler.
1910 BC - Tokyo orders spearman.
1830 BC - Kyoto completes settler, orders escorting spearman.
1790 BC - Osaka complete spearman, to slow to grow, so orders another.
1700 BC - Road to wines is ordered.
Kyoto finished spearman, orders settler.
Thanks to chopped forest, Osaka completed spearman already - Growth in 9, settler in 10, guess what was ordered?
1675 BC - Satsuma is formed - spice are secured for Japan - temple ordered, to get the wheat in the borders.
Tokyo complete spearman, settler ordered.
1650 BC - Not my normal style, but spearman attack barb camp that was spotted AFTER Satsuma formed.
Pop another goody hut - more angry barbs

Summary -
Get the spearman back to Satsuma - don't tempt an Aztec sneak attack.
Wines to be connected very shortly.
Get a road to Satsuma - get the spices on the road net.
 I just looked at Joe's dotmap. I build my cities in his exact spots, without looking at the map
Lot's of settlers with escorted available.

Uh Donsig, throw in France and India.

Uh Donsig, throw in France and India.

Aw, we never really had any trouble from France. (Well, maybe just a tad in the second German game). India isn't that bad. The Aztec always give me trouble in my SP games and the immortals are tough. Russia is never a pushover. (Well, maybe in the second German game.)

I see this easy download thing has one advantage - we can post the link to the saved game and a screen shot in one post.:)

Good work, Lee. Its not a bad starter, just "challenging".

Damn Persians snuck Antioch into the spot I wanted.

I would cancell the settler in Kyoto and switch to Pyramids immeadiately. 3 other cities are about to kick out settlers (with escorts ready), and theres limited space for new cities already.

We are going to need the granaries BIG-TIME, and I'd rather have them in every city for free. We can get it IF we start now.

Sometimes its better to have a ring of 6 or 7 good cities than a bunch of crappy, unconnected ones.

For later: Some middle-age @$$-kicking is going to be necessary for continued expansion.

I vote Persia as #1 target. We'll show them "tribute". :hammer:

Question: If we build veteran horsemen now, can they be upgraded to Samurai once we have Chivalry? I doubt it, but I was wondering...

Ohwell is up next, followed by KD.

Shld be able to with the new patch. Anybody played the Japanese before?

Does anyone remember if we could upgrade in the Chinese SG?

Or was that pre-1.17...

Ah, it doesnt matter. Lets get the Pyramids! :whipped:

While in the process of deleting my attached game files in our old SGs, I reread the whole thing and was struck by one thing. The lot of us got to be the most violent, backstabbing bunch of warmongerers on the planet. :D

Every peace we made was made with war in mind. We launched unilateral wars frequently, even fr a position of seemingly relative weakness sometimes. Sometimes made peace with a hidden sword behind our back. Wars frequently only ended only with total absorption of the whole enemy nation. :D

In the 1st German Sg, we even (led by joe :p) razed megapolis after megapolis. Gosh, no wonder people think we love war so much.

A lot of fun though. :D :goodjob:
