Jerry Springer is for morons who are uneducated. I don't know a respecting person who would go on that show. Which is why all of those guests are idiots with no teeth. He makes money off of the lack of peoples intelligence and the barbaric fighting nature of our society. Cheap entertainment.

I am in complete agreement with you
The people on that show are so insecure and should probably be sterilised (can you imagine the children that many of them will have - in some epsidos you can see them)
Most of those people make me look sane

I really hate teh cries from teh audience of ' Yeah you go girl' and stuff like that. AHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH - lets kill them all

OOh ,it's just all sensation.

I don't understand why anybody would wan't to expose their "weird" social life to an audiance that make's fun of it.

The most stupied moment of the show are to my oppinion the "wise words of Jerry Springer" at the end of the show.Oh god ,aaarchh.
Like he is the voice of good moral value's.

Everybody laugh's with that guy ,with good reason. But he'll probably never care ,as he is stinking rich.

The worst are the Jerry Springer spinnofs.Same concept, although even worser than the original.

okay, seriously who the hell watches Jerry Springer?? is it even on anymore?? the dumbest part is his "Final Thought"

The most pathetic thing, is this guy was once the mayor of Cincinnati, OH....typical politician.

Jerry Springer is for morons who are uneducated.
I was just about to hit the "post" button to point out that this jerk used to be mayor of Cincinnati... but noticed jiml_63 already did. I know who Springer is, but honestly have not watched his show.... I've seen clips of it though, and believe Jerry would make excellent lawn fertilizer, if gound up and mixed in the proper proportions with some peat and cow dung.

Just becase a show "can" be made does not mean it "should" be made.

About the killing idea.... Remember the way Kang from "The Simpsons" killed them? Not a bad idea, all we need is ray gun technology.... ;)

No, really, it escapes my mind why people like to watch something so stupid. Enough people watch it so that it's been on for a while, what does this say about people? It's truly sad. For the record, I hate almost all shows of that type. But this in particular... [plasma]

You mean there are folks here who actually watch that?!?!? I've never seen Jerry Springer, but I have heard more about that show than I care to know. IMHO, T.V. is nothing but pure rot, anyway. I don't own a T.V., thank goodness, because if that's an example of what people and their families watch, well, T.V. has sank to a new low. I see that I don't call it the 'idiot box' for nothing. Ha! My computer, my books, my radio (news only), and my playing cards are more than enough entertainment for me.

Gosh, and they broadcast that stuff in Europe??? No wonder it seems that people of other cultures think so poorly of Americans. Heck, if I were a European, and if most of the American shows I watched were along the same lines as Jerry Springer, I'd begin to worry seriously about the mentality of my American brothers and sisters, that they would turn on their T.V.'s and watch this stuff day after day.

Maybe I'm being too harsh, eh?

About the only stuff I watch on TV are comedies (anything thats funny really), football (European version) and documentaries as well (generally learn something).

Some of your points were good but I think a TV is useful some of the time...A radio can only describe things - I listen to the radio for music...

I also read boooks. At the moment I am reading the fifth book from the wheel of time series and wonder if anyone else has read any of these books...

Yes, Dell, I read, too. In fact, that's pretty much what I do most of the time. Maybe they have good programming in your neck of the woods, but here in the U.S., aside from public T.V. stations--and there aren't many--the good and educational programs are mainly on cable, and believe me, the monthly cost for even basic cable service is outrageous! It isn't worth it for me to fork out $50 a month just to watch three channels-- The Discovery Channel, The Learning Channel, and Court T.V. Those would be the only channels that I would watch because IMHO, the rest of cable is rot, too.

Besides, the radio suits me just fine. I don't have a problem with its simply being descriptive since I'm almost totally blind, anyway. Some of the books I read are on tape, while, as for the rest, I simply put the book right up to my face to read. My blindness is from birth, but it has not stopped me from doing anything I want, including getting 2 college degrees.

Thinking about it objectively, I might even venture to say that my blindness may be the main reason for my aversion to television. To see it, I have to sit literally with my face on the screen to see, much as I'm doing now, in front of my monitor. Things don't make sense to me, because I can't see what I'm watching. That's why I don't mind the radio at all.

I admit, I have some extremely harsh views about telly. I hope that this has given some insight into why.

Wow this is the weird thing about the internet, I didn't have a clue that you had very poor eye sight. I suppose thats because the internet is impersonnal and no one ever has to describe themselves.

--off topic--
Yes, you're right, and to be sure, there aren't that many folks with disabilities who have access to the Internet at this time.

--on topic--
Hmm. As I'm thinking about Jerry Springer, do you folks think that most of the time, that stuff is fake? I mean, I have heard tale of some REALLY strange and disgusting subjects that they talk about. Do you all think that they are actors? I mean, really, who in their right mind would admit disgusting things about themselves? It sounds too crazy to be true.

Lemmie guess --- you don't have a goverment controlled TV-Channel
there? But nowadays, thanks to our mighty consul Paavo Lipponen,
even that sucks most of the time. So the commercials
are usually quite good here. ;) So I watch TV just for commercials
and a few good programs.

Hey, I'm from Cincinnati. :o

Then again, we have so much to be ashamed myself. I hope to move. :D

I pray for the people who believe that the crap on Jerry Springer is real.
I personally watch it and find it quiet amusing, except when they have the 400lbs cross dressing male hooker who's marrying a shemale midget....that just goes to far

If you are watching that stuff, then what does that make you:rolleyes: ?
*points and laughs*

Those things are totally fake ratings grabbers. In fact it is sometimes amusing to watch the other countries try to make shows like it. Ahhh, Americanization.;)

But as with wrestling, I don't waste my time watching that crap.
