Did anyone notice in the OP's link how disproportionately large of a number Katie Couric got in Iowa while scoring usually the lowest elsewhere?

Isn't she from Iowa though?

Actually I look at the other polls in the OP and Iowa was an anomaly in nearly everyone of them. I assume this was some kind of crappily done internet poll.

Jon Stewart is a comedian, not a serious journalist. And yet, I'll be honest: I think I seriously trust him more than anyone else on cable news. Of course, I imagine that's partly because I only rarely watch cable news - but also, because Jon Stewart actually seems more honest than most of them. I disagree with a lot of what he says, and he can be a real ass sometimes, but I think he means well. Plus, he's often (but not always by any means) hilarious.

I find Stephen Colbert funnier.

Did you not catch the whole Stewart v Kramer flap?

Daily Show is mostly showing hypocrisy in the media and politicians (though I think he focuses on one party more than the other >.>), but occasionally seaways into legitimate editorials.

It was wonderfully beautiful on so many levels. Really should be his crowning achievement, I think. :)

I am really really getting annoyed at the audiences on his and Colbert's shows though. They get way to annoying with applause, wooing, cheering, ugh it's so unbearable at times.

I do like their shows, Jon Stewert's more since, as was said earlier, he is a good interviewer. Colbert's interviews are terrible though.

I wish he was much harder hitting on the interviews, to be honest.

Paddy Chayefsky would be so proud.

Google "Howard Beale Mad Prophet" for details if you don't mind "rough language"...

I still prefer his crossfire take down to it.

I haven't missed an episode of The Daily Show in years, and Stewart seems like a very intelligent and informed person, who would be capable of doing a much more serious, ambitious show. On TDS, it usually only shines through when he has the right interview partner.

I enjoy both TDS and The Colbert Report, but I don't agree with all their views, or all the ways in which they express them and depict the other side. It's fun and can be informative to various extents, but it's also quite biased, and in no way real news. Even if you happen to agree with them, don't just rely on them, and take everything with a grain of salt. The people for which they are the main or only news source scare me. Then again, this might just be a symptom of the sorry state of US news in general. If fake news seem to deceive you less than "real" ones, and to actually inform you about what's going on in the world instead of only hitting you with propaganda and "human interest" trash, fake news suddenly become a trusted and reliable source. But I'm sure a lot of people also just appreciate getting their existing opinions confirmed.

What about people that just like him and his show, but don't want to donate organs? I'm one of those.

does anyone else get annoyed when you ask someone about their views on something and they give you Jon Stewart's same exact opinion

When it would happen all the time, sure. But it's not ok to agree with someone? Heck, I parroted well made points I read here or on another forum as well a couple of times :)

Looking at the TIME polls, Iowa is an outlier in most. It's so creepy.

He also has the most knowledgeable audience.

His show is "real news"? I honestly thought he was a comedian :dubious:

He can be serious, but when he's telling a joke or doing "fake news" its very obvious. It also almost always done in an intelligent manner.
