Just can't quit this game

And while I am enjoying playing, I literally am unable to quit. Game locks up when I select Quit to Desktop, its the only lock up and no other issues at all. Anyone else run into this and/or know a fix? Getting a lil annoying having to restart whenever I am done.

I had a similar problem, but it turns out it's just slow shutting down - I've had it take 20-30 seconds to completely clean up.

Try pressing Alt+F4.

Alternatively, you can go to the Task Manager (by tabbing out and going to the Control Panel) and close Civ VI from there.

I had the same problem after running continuously for 16 hours. Tried alt tab / ctrl alt delete as well but the program refused to give up the focus. Thought maybe it might just be slow shutting down. Let it sit and went to bed. When I got up this AM it would give up enough focus to show the alt tab menu but refused to shut down or actually let the focus pass to a program other than the alt tab menu or task manager. Was able to restart the system through the task manager and everything seems ok now.

Having the same problem. The game won't quit. Doesn't help to try to shut it down through the task manager. The only way for me to get out of the mess is to use the win key and re-start. The game itself runs smooth and good.

Edit: I should also mention that it doesn't happen every time, but enough so it is annoying.
