I really enjoy the ages system and, for what it's worth, I understand that extending the length of ages would have an outsized mechanical impact on the succeeding ages.
I wonder, though, if there is a way for the dev team to implement a "Just one more turn" equivalent for each age. The player would be able to advance to the next age any time after this point. Some questions to consider include:
It could also create an unfair player advantage over the AI, where the player suddenly has the control to end the age.

- Does the crisis continue, or is it resolved?
- Do cities/towns continue to grow?
- Would actions taken in this regard somehow create unfair advantages or disadvantages for the next age, or will the reset continue as it normally does?
- How do dates/time scale with the turns? Perhaps slowed down, to reflect monthly turns as opposed to annual?
- Anything else I am not thinking of here?
