I was wondering if it might be possible to create a submersable aircraft carrier? Because, let's be honest, we all wish we had one! :crazyeyes

I know in civ2 it wouldn't work though...so maybe someone who knows how civ3 functions a little better then I do could let me know.

And then maybe someone with more talent then I have could whip up a graphic for it? Now THAT would be cool. :king:

it might work, but i don't see the point:confused:
I can't check now, but i'll do it tomorrow

I think the point is to be able to sneak up on an opponent, then surface, then launch planes.

cant u just let submarines carry planes? the japs did it in ww2, they had a 100m long sub that could carry 2 airplanes....

I think it's possible. I've considered doing submarine aircraft carriers, after my last one got slaughtered after it was outraced by its escorting battleships. (Argh, why can't we move units in a bloody stack?!?!)

There IS a flag in the editor for it. I tried using it for my battleships, which are blocking a narrow channel to my homelands. Just ended up with the enemy attacking, anyway. (Apparently, if an enemy unit tries to move into your square, it's an attack, even if you are a submarine.)
