AA is a bad joke. It is reverse racism, and it is time for it to end.
That's always been a false statement

Yikes! Get ready for some grandstanding & hardcore politicking from the right if that is the case.Who's going to replace Specter? Looks like Jeff Session of Alabama.
No it is not. If me & a black woman are applying for a job & our skills are equal then I am denied the job on the basis of my color & gender. That is racist................. hell, it is sexist too! That's always been a false statement

If you don't mind my asking, how long have you been in the workforce?Wrong. If a black woman and you are equally qualified, you are more likely to get the job. If the black woman is demonstrably more qualified, you are more likely to get the job. If you are utterly incompetent, you are more likely to get the job. AA has not changed that. It's only partially leveled the field.
How about your first job that counted as something you might make a career of, or your first job after you got your degree. From the time I had my first job, about 28 years.
What's really ironic is that Clarence Thomas would have never gone to Yale to get his law degree if it wasn't for AA. Then he did all he could to dismantle it as the head of the EEOC under Ronnie Raygun after he got that appointment due to being a token black Uncle Tom. He is by far the most lightweight Supreme Court justice of all time.
I know he doesn't belong on the Court. I know his judicial philosophy is bitterness over the fact that he could not have gotten where he is without AA.
Do people say SCOTUS in the US like its a word? Like instead of "Supreme Court" they say "Scotus".
I think I covered that with:
Yeah I thought it would be odd if people did, but that always how its written. Which I find equally odd because theres often no ambiguity about what Supreme Court the article is referring to.
Also had a lecturer last year who said POTUS and SCOTUS like they were words so I was wondering if it was common. I'm not quite sure if he was American himself though, he had a really weird hybrid Irish/American accent.

Working for a black owned company provides me with some perspective to this. AA does matter for individuals & companies. I'd go so far to say that the only reason my company is still working at the site I'm contracted to is because we are minority owned............ It is no different for employers looking @ who they hire. What has that got to do with anything? I haven't lost out on any jobs do to AA.
AA has been in effect for decades. You don't see a lot of blacks with superior jobs to whites. You don't see them making as much money as whites. The idea that AA has disadvantaged whites is idiotic.

Or they are merely handy acronyms.
