These are two simple reskins of the default Rifleman... both are team colored... nothing fancy here... simply "when blue won't do" (default Rifleman tunic color), you have a couple of other options with these Khaki and White tunics. I've used them for Spain and Carthage... your use may vary.

v2.0: added a new "Desert Rifleman"... the default hat is replaced by a khaki kepi hat with cloth neck sun protector attached, and he's given tall leather boots (he's team colored as well).

All needed files included... uses default Rifleman animations.

On a related note... I while ago i was experimenting with "full body teamcolor" units. Riflemen were one of the more successful - Uniforms of this time period were often quite colorful, so it did not look too badly out of place.

It might be of use for some civs where no "genuine" rifleman color is known but "Blue [or Khaki or White ;)] won't do" - it looks somehat odd on certain team colors, others are quite ok.

    Hey!

    Hehe... just kidding.

Good job Refar... I forgot I had already made a dark green Portugese uniformed Rifleman too... I'd have done what you did, but team color is not my strong-suit!

I think we're both a little late to the party on this sort of stuff... as most of the civs in-game already have very specific Rifleman, but as you know, there's still a few that have slipped through the cracks without a specific rifleman unit yet, so these are all good options!

Thanks Refar... I'll use this too until something better comes along! :goodjob:

Yes. Yhis is why i didn't release them earlier - most modders actually prefer non-tc civ-specific units.
But seeing yours i figured these might be of some use after all.

I could most definitely be wrong, but to my knowledge, I haven't seen civ-specific riflemen for Portugal, Vikings, Spain, Carthage, Holland and Byzantines... once again, I could be wrong... I just haven't found them if they exist (or didn't like the ones I saw)... so yes, there's still some use out there for units such as the ones in this thread (and even if there are specific Riflemen for those civs, there's probably slow people like me who haven't figured out where the specific ones are yet).

    Netherlands : Zerver
    Portugal : Zerver
    Spain : Zerver
    Viking : CocaCarola

I am not aware of any Carthage or Byzantine rifleman either ;)

Zervers units are a lot of hit and miss with me... some I really like, some I definitely do not (nothing personal, just a differing taste thing)... which may account for my not remembering seeing them before (because if a unit is a "miss" with me, I usually don't use it or recall it). Having said that, I guess I need to take a 2nd look at them (assuming I can find them), because I don't remember them... I also haven't seem riflemen for those countries in a lot of mods too, so apparently I'm not the only one to either miss or skip-over Zerver's units.

CocaCarola doesn't even ring a bell with me... so I probably missed that one all-together... once again, I'll have to find it and see what I think.

Bottom line, I don't always use a custom unit even if it's the only custom unit available... sometimes I just prefer to stick with the default until I find a better custom unit... but I honestly didn't recall any of those nations having custom units, but I certainly don't have every custom unit committed to memory, so thanks for the heads-up Mamba, I'll be sure to look for them.

    P.S.
Just realized I don't have Diversica on my HD... I thought I did... oh well, time to download it and see what I can steal!

    EDIT:
    P.P.S.
Okay, I just checked for those models in Diversica (I figured if you knew of them, they're probably in your mod). Zervers are okay (I definately missed those, because I don't have a problem with them)... kinda generic stuff like what myself and Refar were doing... CocaCarola made a Viking/Swedish Musketman... there's no way I'd call that a Rifleman unit. In Diversica, you've got Zerver's chainmail armor wearing Musketman for the Viking Musketman and you're using CocaCarola's Swedish Musketman for the Viking Rifleman (I definitely would not call that a Rifleman... my 2-cents).
