Must have missed some files. I may make version 0.4 a "Full Mod" in it's own right, which will avoid the problems of renaming files.

The bitter winter is in the Python file. (extension ending in .py)

I'll double check the files I have compiled. In Civilopedia it is listed as GE Army Group

You don't have UE installed do you ?!?!

I have UE, your mod, and the default 3.19 RtW installed, in directories like so:

/Mods/The Road to War _original_/ - this is the 3.19 RtW. I renamed it _original_ to keep the files around for posterity, which turned out to be handy when it came time to install your mod.

/Mods/The Road to War/ - this is UE
/Mods/The Road to War - KitiTT/ - this is your mod, obviously.

Does your mod rely on files in /Mods/The Road to War/ ? If so, I may need to perform some reinstalls.

    /Mods/The Road to War - KitiTT/ should be /Mods/The Road to War - KiwiTT/

/Mods/The Road to War/ should be completely "original". Just in case. I have not yet checked all files for any other "Road to War" file links. I do not think it does, but as I did not write the original RtW I am not sure.

0.4x looks like a lot of work ;)

Yes, sorry, I typoed when typing the directory name in my post: I have it named /Mods/The Road to War - KiwiTT/

I moved the 3.19 RtW directory back to its original place, then I reinstalled your mod according to your directions, and I'm still having the same problems: no army groups are buildable in Berlin.

Perhaps the problem is with the way I'm starting the scenario. I am going into /Mods/The Road to War - KiwiTT/PublicMaps/ and clicking on 1936 - Europe (Historical - v0.33).CivBeyondSwordWBSave

Is that the correct way to start the scenario?

    Yes.

I have checked the files I am using and the ones loaded in the upload last night (@ work now). Can you show me a screen shot of the Civilopedia Units list.

I had this problem too initially and I removed the SS Panzergrenadiers from the Unitclass and Unitinfo files. I'll double-check those files again tonight.

Here are screenshots of the units section of the pedia.

I also have a little bit of feedback. The tech progression seems much faster with all of the specialists in the cities. I had exhausted the tech tree in 1938. The turn after war was declared on Poland, Churchill dropped two ICBMs on Germany. I think the beaker cost of techs should probably be increased quite a bit, maybe with a very high cost on the modern techs.

You are using the RTW regular version and you might want to get the latest patch.

You appear to have missed the Object Text files.

    Some are already 100,000

Have you installed all the files or just the unit files. Here is my civilopedia screen. Note: the Two letter initials.

OK, I think I figured out the problem with the files. You can ignore my comments about the tech tree.

Now I have another problem, though. When I click on the worldbuilder save file and the game starts, it crashes at the "Select a Civilization" screen. I checked the files in /Assets/XML/Civilizations/ and they're all the right versions, but the game consistently crashes at that screen. Frustrating :)

I think you may still have a an error.

Did you also add all the art files correctly. This is important too.

PS: I really need to build a whole Mod ;)

    I found the problem.

The /Art/Leaderheads/Hitler/ folder in your 7z file is empty. When you unpack that into a default 3.19 RtW install, it adds the empty Hitler folder. That's what was crashing for me on the Civ select screen.

I made a workaround by copying the /Art/Leaderheads/Hitler/ folder from my RtW UE folder, which at least means that I don't crash at the civ select screen... although the thumbnail image for Hitler is just bright pink.

Anyway, it might be worth adding the missing leaderhead files to the 7z archive you have available for download :)

You're welcome, glad I could help.

So now I'm still not seeing the same units you are. The units are definitely different than what I was seeing before (much higher strength numbers, for example, and Germans can build Marines now), but I still don't see the units that were in your screenshot (GE Ar 234, GE Focke-Wulf, GE Me 262, etc). I do have German advanced infantry, German early infantry, etc.

Do I have an outdated version of the mod? Or is this correct for .33?

    Thanks again,

    Gattamelata

Edit: added attachment to show 'pedia units screen.

The names comes from the Text files in XML\Text.

You may also need to clear your "Cache" files in "My Documents\My Games"

FYI: I am now commencing work on Road to War - Historical 0.4x and hopefully release it before the end of the year. I will continue to support 0.3x until that time.

I am having a bit of break from developing as I am currently programming at work so am feeling a little burnt out so just playing the mod. In addition, to preparing for my business trip to Singapore at the end of the month.

I will be working on 0.39.xx for a 0.40 release in January, which will make the costs of newer technology builds significantly higher. e.g. a Jet fighter would cost maybe 5-10 times the cost of normal fighters in hammers.

This is very intriguing, I haven't taken a good look around the forum in a while and I stumble upon this thread. I did a little overhauling of Dale's RTW as well (was a choice between this and Asioasio's), but I'm really eager to see how you have altered it.

I also implemented a corps/army/army group method, but used the Stack Attack Promotion mod (I too figured that each unit=~regiment/division). I also did major unit/building additions/changes (added some of the funnies too like the Ratte and Ho-IX), altered civics/techs and reimplemented the corporations (incentive for Germany to get Iron), changed religions completely to "political parties" (mucked around with additions and changes, bonuses and buildings attached to this), created a whole resistance/underground tree for partisans/saboteurs (if you're getting your arse handed to you, you're still not out of the fight), stylized each civ to play closer to what it was historically (eg. Germany was advanced and modernized early, Russia started out demoralized but with massive numbers, US didn't have much to start but ramped up their economy mid game, Britain had to rely on the colonies for man-power and supplies, France got pwnd... jk... well.. actually they did), added special events to single play since the AI was horrendously weak (AI gets # of units at certain game turns). I even felt that if you wanted to try your hand at a minor nation, I gave the option to either give yourself a huge tank promotion or air-power boost (open play only, not historical but fun to go toe-to-toe with Germany or Russia as Poland or Finland). I've done more things too, but I've been working on this for a few years on and off, so it's hard to remember off-hand (I've got dozens of mods merged into it with probably twice as many new units).

I still want to do a few more things: Working on an attrition/supply route system that is simple, also automatic convoys supplies to UK. SDK still baffles me and I've been trying to get Greyfox's Unitfuel mod to work, but I can never get the DLL to compile properly. So I've been limited to XML/Python changes.

I'm making the move to Win7 on the weekend and have some work things in motion right now. But can't wait for that to be over and try out this mod. Keep up the good work! :hatsoff:
