The Knights of Saint John Mod v3.0

This mod is a half-fiction mod in the 18th century's South Europe. You are lead the Knighthood of Saint John, or known as Malta. The mod provides an ONLY partly fictional scenario, where, you must conquer Jerusalem, and destroy the Ottoman Empire! But, this is Civilization 4, so you can choose, to dominate whole South Europe! :D

There are three type of government civics:
    -Absolute Monarchy
    -Constitutional Monarchy
    -Republic

The flag of the Knights of Saint John:

I really hope that you'll enjoy this mod, and please report any problem here in this thread! :)

    Thoughts on Mod:

    1) Resources are kinda jacked...need more variety of seafood and fill in places on the map with more resources so we can settle.
    2) No metals, especially iron...can't build the units we need
    3) Rivers would be nice for irrigation on the island and in other places
    4) We start with units that we don't have the techs for (especially of impact since you lose most of your navy killing off the Arab navy, which is pretty much vital)
    5) Tech tree seems need working on quite a bit...cut out all the modern stuff

    6) I think it would be really cool if this started back in the 16th century with the Siege of Malta.

    7) The interfaces is cool - haven't seen one quite like it.

    8) I added BUG 4.3 to this mod easily...BULL seems to be more difficult to add though, so I didn't

    9) The huge stacks of barb galleons were kinda funny. They didn't do anything to me, but I picked them off one by one.

    10) Chieftain level?

    My answers:

    1) Okay, it'll be fixed.
    2) The same as the first
    3) The same as the first
    4) So, I must make it... easier? btw: this is the KNIGHTHOOD of Malta; of course that you'll have knights
    5) Okay, did you think about Future Tech, etc?
    6) Maybe,it would be possible.
    7) Thanks.
    8) Thanks.
    9) Okay, okay I will delete some of them.
    10) What is the problem with this?

Maybe. Try it without patch, and if it crashes, install BtS 3.19 Patch from this site. ;)

Meant to update earlier. While the map looks better, I still think the tech tree needs work. I was able to build Calvary from the start.

Well it is not perfect. Maybe the next version will better. Anyway, it was two days to delete all the 'modern stuff' like you said, so please, be patient. I have a real life too.

2.5 will be much much better. ;)

Nice Mod ! Been several times to Malta, and was of course very interrested by the fortifications and the general history of the siege of 1565.

I noticed a few things that could be improved ;) :

1 ) I lost my worker in Malta, and there was never the possibility to built another one ??

2 ) I wasn't able to build any cats or cannons either, the only possibility it seems to reduce a city's fortifications was to build the "Ship of the line" that are the only units to be able to do this, but no ground units...

3 ) Also, I was able to produce spies, but there doesn't seem to be any "espionnage Panel" ( The one after Demographics ). No button to open it.
4 ) I think it would be good to make the mod start earlier : The siege started May 1665, but I think you could make it start 2 to 5 years before, and make the Ottoman attacks on Malta correspond more or less with the date of the Great Siege.

Also, if you do so, I think it would allow you to introduce the real Parties names :
-Jean ( Parisot ) de la Valette for The Knights.
-Turgut Reis head of the Barbary Corsairs ( allied with the Ottomans [ Saladin ] )
-You could optionally rename Valetta ( which did not yet exist at the time of the Great Siege, but was founded little after ) into BIRGU, which was near Valetta across the grand Harbour. BIRGU was renamed VICTORIOSSA after the Great Siege in commemoration of it.

Otherwise this Mod is a very good idea, because the Great Siege is not "that" well known, from let's say, the common people. You could also include some doc about the siege in your .zip at least a minimum historical references...
    There is choice... :goodjob:
