Kotaku's 401st Move Poll

These shots also may show that you keep all of the city's land when you capture a city unlike in 3 and 4 where the city radius was reduced upon capture. I like this feature as I always thought it was weird that "territory" that changed hands suddenly became neutral or unowned after a city was conquered.

Look at the trading post spam!

Agreed. It looks quite ugly actually. They went to great lengths to reduce road spaghetti and now they have this abomination. :(

Other than that, the graphics look very nice.

Singapore and area around it looks great though, I was hoping that with the promised lack of cottage/trading post spam this would be how the game would really look. It looks very realistic. I hope there will be a mod that will do away with trading posts or at least make them less ugly. No urban sprawl is that bad. Rivers also look extra bad in this shot for some reason...

Does anyone know what the circles south of Damascus and Elephantine are?

Edit: I wonder what the fortress-looking structure west of Rio is. I hope it's not a fort, it's looks huge. Perhaps some sort of SDI?

I'm not sure what those circular things are but they look like a desert-specific improvement.

Shouldn't be too hard, the easiest thing to do would be to just add +1 gold to other tile improvements such as farms and mines to make up for not having trading posts.

A better, but harder mod would be to make trade more lucrative and generate the gold from that. I think it would be worth it though...

How about a mod that just changes the graphic? No need to get too complicated.

I want to get my hands on this press build! Also the writer/player seems like a cool guy, no one else is basicly giving us a play through as he is. I've never heard of this site, but now I'll be keeping an I on it.

It's a fort. But think more Maginot line scale.

Looks like a colossal Vauban-style Star Fort.

Incidentally, I've not seen signs of an airbase improvement anywhere. Can we base aircraft out of forts?

There's another shot of the fort here: http://www.gry.gildia.pl/gry/sid_meiers_civ5/galeria,i79

It looks absolutely ridiculous. I hope some of these graphics are still just placeholders and not the final product. With all the attention put into the UI graphics and terrain I just can't believe they would botch the tile improvements like this. That said, the farms look awesome - I love they way they blend with each other to make large stretches of uninterrupted farmland.
