Kraken converted from Civilization IV with 8 custom animations!

Original unit by Chalid, and thanks to Deliverator for his tutorial!
This thing really has good animations, he squirts like an octopus, turns a somersault to prepare to fight, and sticks his arms to the sides of a ship to fight (then sweeps his upper arms back and forth across the decks). He also has a nice death animation where he is flung backward and sinks headfirst. I recommend making him very large in your mods;). Yes, I know he only has six arms, he's a kraken not an octopus or squid.
Since I appear to be blowing up the fantasy unit database, I thought I'd try converting custom animations for once and the Kraken caught my eye. I don't think he is actually underwater in the animations and I'd like to get an effect for when he squirts forward. I'm also not keen on the blue-and-green skin, so I did an evil-looking black skin too.
    I hope you like him!

UPDATE (10/6/2014): Fixed the issue where the tip of one tentacle is attached to the origin. Thanks to Deliverator for figuring out how to fix this and Pazyryk for reporting it.

Ha, that's what I had in mind. Maybe we can get Gedemon to make this as a replacement for the Galley in RED.
Also, did you see the PM I sent about the WH icons? I'm getting highly annoyed by my incapacity to make icons protrude from the circle.

I'm glad you guys can use it, that's what I converted it for:D.
I didn't realize this was the only sea monster in Civ5. That's a bit of a shame:(.
And does anybody know if there is a sea monster with a castle on its back in Civ4? I'd convert one of those for Warhammer as a Naggarothi Black Ark.

PS: I have an elf archer coming up once I get him skinned properly. He should be up tonight and I know fantasy modders always need elves.

There weren't that many for Civ4...

I couldn't get the Sea Dragon to convert without the animations going all screwy, but I haven't been able to do any conversions successfully, so maybe I was biting off more than I could chew.

 That thing is awesome. Unfortunately I have no real reason to use it, but I do like squids. (except it kinda looks more like an octopus)

As mentioned in the OP, this is neither an octopus or a squid...it's a KRAKEN!!!

Read "Kraken" as being said in a deep booming voice, please.

Octopus, as the name suggests, has eight arms. This Kraken is a hexapus ;)

That makes me think of an octopus with the power to curse people...:faint:.

Also, please note that this particular hexapus is rather larger than the Titanic.

And does anyone know if there was anything resembling a sea serpent in Civ4? At the moment I'm looking at Deliverator's sandworm, but the head isn't that sea-serpent-y.

A big whale (Leviathan) would be nice too. I can't remember if there was anything like that in Civ4.

As I mentioned a few posts above: There's the Sea Dragon.

Or are you specifically looking for something without legs?

There's the Humpback. [If someone converts it, I could reskin it...]

in cIV (and FFH) there was a unit used as "leviathan" but it was a deep-sea fish... whiteish with globuleous yellow eyes..

Indeed, there are some interesting units in FFH (and its modmods) that aren't posted as separate downloads...

Yeah, that was it. I never saw it searching through the Civ4 units forum. Could someone maybe post the relevant art files from FFH?

The sea dragon is cool too. I'm not sure that I would use the humpback (but maybe someone else would).

Awesome!!! I haven't even thought of venturing into custom animations yet, this unit is an inspiration! :goodjob:

Thanks Nomad! Unfortunately animation converting is now refusing to work for me, I asked in the tutorial thread about that but nobody has answered yet.:(

Got some graphic glitches with this. Looks like lines shooting out of the right-hand tentacle tip:

    Spoiler :
