What is the primary method of finding challengers for a game? Should people post here? Is there something that can be set up on the site? These are ideas that have been going through my head.
A nice idea is having some method that is sort of like the zones setup. BUT ONLY FOR CIVFANATICS LADDER GAMES. Say someone wants a game but doesnt want to contact everyone on the list and then be denied because they're all un-available. What does he (or she) do? Get discouraged, thats what. If we could possibly set up a small chat room on the site for this specific purpose, I think that players would be able to get a game a LOT easier, and the ladder could thrive. What does anyone else think of this?
If this does happen, I also think we ought to have some sort of "no loitering" sign posted. Basically meaning that if you're logged on, you're here for a ladder game. Nothing more annoying than seeing 20 people logged on at the zone and realising that none of them are there for an actual game. Once someone gets a game, they should log off.
Not an original idea I'm sure, but something like this should really be implemented to enhance participation.
